View Full Version : Are all coiled remote lines......

I am having problems with my remote line, it's just too short! Sure if I assume fireing position it works fine but it annoys me when I'm not in perfect stance because of the tension. Do they make remote lines that are twice the length or a place that makes them to size.
And why don't the coiled start close to the fitting, there is 6" of stiff hose to deal with that doesn't help with keeping the coil agile. Who designed these things and why is the design so :tard: If there is an answer to this madness then I would like to hear it.
I think I'll have to run 2 coupled together and just have to deal.

when I used to run with a remote I made my own from SS line and covered it with 1/4" heat shrink tubing.

Yeah, I ran remote for two years and eventually got rid of it because of the very issue you're talking about (that and I got an HPA tank finally).

You CAN stretch some of them. If you really stretch it out and leave it that way for a while (attach both ends to some furniture or something like that), that should increase the length a little.

Another thing you could do is not hang your CO2 tank in the exact center of your back. (I'm assuming you're using a pack of some sort.) I made a custom holster out of an old pod pack, and I would hang it under my right arm, just like a pistol holster.

I know it's not the exact answer you're looking for, but it's what I did to cope with the problem. SS lines are typically longer than the coiled ones, but they're also much stiffer once you pressurize them.

When I ran remote, I used an SS line.

I may still have one.

I still have those ER gloves in stock, lol. I know what your talking about with the remote, it's the reason I decided not to run with one in the 90's. That and I started playing with a tank on the marker and never could get used to the feel of not having one on the gun. I have seen a few people play with one like like Veef's and they seem to like them a whole lot better than the coiled remote. I know I still sell several of the coiled remotes though.

Yes, it's aluminum links single linked to neoprene o-rings. Makes for stretchy chainmaile.

There are people spending $1K on new markers just to save 2 oz and here you are wearing chainmail on your head....priceless :headbang:

^^

The best remote I have found for length is one I have had for years, its a microline coil that is smaller than what they have today and much more flexible. I actually dont mind the shorter style, so if you want to trade I would be willing to do so. I can send you a pic. The remote is in good shape, hasn't really seen a lot of use because I use a newer/shorter style. PM me.

Its actually so flexible that one time my tank pack fell off while running and got wrapped around a tree and I made it about 15 feet before even noticing, while still being connected to the tank. No damage.

If you're going to go that route I should point out:
1) 114 4.5k airtank on my back.
2) 6x Full pods
3) SS minimag body
4) SS Doc's barrel adapter
5) SS RetTro Valve.

6?) I don't remember but I may have been sporting a water bag in the back of that vest.

Meh, weight...
Now I run my 114 on gun.

Never had a problem with my remote behind too short and I use a cover over it which restricts it even more. Though I think I know why it's never been a problem for me. I use the T2W spec ops stock so my air attached right under my shoulder when I have the marker up in ready position.

PFFFFFT....you lightweight..... ;)

Your format, my stats:

1) TWO 114 4.5k airtank OR TWO 3lb CO2 tanks on my back.
2) <20x Full LOCKLID pods
3) Warp-fed, V35 Halo on top of my red-dotted A5
4) with 14" Freak back/AA tip
5) ROC Stock

I know...I'm :tard:

Rehkal: same exact setup here, you save about a foot by using the t2w.
