Who here remembers these? They were kind of cool on mags. I was wandering if someone could tell me more about them. How do they attach to a mag? Are they metal or plastic? Who made them, did Eclipse? Theres a few in this ad:

I thought it would add a cool old school touch to have one of these on my mag simply for the unique factor since my mag never chops. :D

Hmmm I wonder why that ever went out of style. That seems like it would be the best place to put it lol.....How come I didnt think of that?

Ive got one that is essentially(sp?) a piece of PVC wrapped up with fabric and some straps to put it on your leg. I carry it on the inside of my calf so I can get to it in practically any position behind cover. Not to toot my own horn or anything but people have told me it adds to my BA "look" lol.

They mount to the "rail" on the side of the mag rail, kinda like a dovetail. The mounting rings are aluminum, and the tube is plastic with a rubber cap.

Eclipse annoed some for their splash kits, but don't think eclipse made em.

I have some old scope rings that look almost the same size, except a lil taller than the ones on the caddy.

Nowadays few people carry straight shot squeegees with them, prefering pull throughs most likely.

Edit: hmm, looks like those eclipse caddies have splashed tubes as well, mine had a plastic tube, so maybe eclipse used aluminum in order to anno em

Man two straight shots came with my little leg thingy and I love em. Im a youngen so I never played when they were popular so have always used the pull throughs or battle swabs.

I can actually fit two of the straight shots head-to-toe in the leg carrier which is why I like them.

Either way though you could have whatever style of squeegee you wanted in one of those. And if the metal rings dont work so well use velcro or something lol. Im totally second guessing my leg carrier now, but then I wont look as cool......delimas, delimas. lol.

I had one of those side cars on my mag too back in the day. Mine was just like BiNumber3's. The plastic tube ended up breaking after taking a close up shot. They were nice but I found that wearing the squeegee around my neck with a lanyard worked just as well. I'm sure a couple of my old team mates that don't play any more still have thiers.

With twist lock barrels with level 7s i carry cotton balls, then twist it out, put one in, fire upside down, and i'm ready to go.

A few years ago, one of the local shop owners was telling me those were meant to keep the squeegee close at hand for when the bolt would stick.
So it was right there to jam down the barrel and reset the bolt.
I'd never seen that as a selling point in an add but thats what he felt it was for I guess.

I never had a side car, but I would have to say this is logical. My first mag (1995) had more problems with bolt stick than breaking paint.

I used to have one on my Z until I got rid of the classic rail. Actually really handy to have. :D
