Another E-mag. I'm done for a while, really!

Hey guys,
I just picked up another e-mag. This time from a well known albeit retired scenario team member. This is the cleanest marker I have bought to date. It really was hardly used.

Anyway, I got to breaking it down and noticed something different: it has a micro-switch and factory ace milling. Hooray!

The other thing I noticed was that the Emax valve's engraving was flaking off. Is there anything that can be done about that? I'm afraid that the ano could soon follow. It's strange, because the valve is in perfect shape otherwise. Quantum Lasermark did the engraving originally, can they line it up again?

And now I don't know which marker to give the Emax and which to give the heavy valve. Do y'all think the red acid lowers look better with silver of black? Decisions decisions!

Anno doesn't flake off, it gets scratched off. ;)

I've never seen the actual lettering flake :confused: I'm 100% sure that lettering is lazered on. Someone could have used something like paint to make the lettering pop out. Besides that I don't know brother. Good find tho. :clap:

The lettering is lazered, but people (myself included) have used nail polish or automotive touchup paint to make them more clear as they wear/oxidize.

Yeah, it's weird. It looks greenish where the lasering has flaked off. I suspect that the laser job converted the ano too quickly and made its way through. http://www.pfonline.com/articles/clinics/0505cl_alum1.html It flakes off like paint, but it isn't paint. :(

I've had a couple valves do the same thing

Rebuilt the Geddon this afternoon and my UL came in. Here are a couple unedited (ooh) shots of the red lowers. I was going for sinister. Number 2 should give away what the marker was suspended from. :)

I have the nickel body that came on the marker, but it was peeling terribly. The entire feedneck, I flaked off with my thumbnail. I called AGD and they told me that early on a higher aluminum alloy was used and it didn't take the plating well. They told me that it is probably one of those bodies.

#3 was my favorite too. :)
