Thanks for all of the input and responses. I am closing the survey now because I need to start putting together a research presentation with the data.

Thanks again to all who responded!

It was too hard. How am I supposed to think of just one marker that I want to own?

It doesn’t look like a school project to me; it looks more like an advertising gimmick to get advertising information from people. Had you ask for an address of any kind I would have been 100% skeptical.

Yeah, but i can understand the questions he was asking. From the sound of it they don't have a design yet, or they aren't sure it would be a big hit (my guess is the second one). I've been debating if i wanted to do something like this for my senior project or if i want to do the formula hybrid one, that would help me with SAE. Anyway, good luck with your project.

The reason for the somewhat vague questions is that I have to do a research proposal and presentation before I can just jump into designing a marker. I have to show my instructor that there is a need for whatever feature or design I decide to go with. I am not sure exactly what direction I want to go yet, but my research presentation is due Thursday so between then and now I have to come up with 50 concepts and be able to justify the reasoning... fun huh.

To be honest I have been out of the loop for the last few years since I have been at school. I had to all but give up paintball due to cost cutting. So part of this survey was to find out where the problems still exist. After making the survey I realized I have more direct questions, but my time frame does not allow a lot of wiggle room to get things going.

I have closed the survey so that I can start working with the data, but I will watch this thread through out my project so any input is helpful.

I am currently considering using a modified version of the level 10 Mag bolt design with a dump chamber like a spool valve instead of the rear reg. I was an original beta tester of level 10 and started out using Mags so I feel it is the right direction.

A couple of quick questions while I am at it.

Do you feel eyes are needed with a proper level 10 style bolt?

How do you feel about a mini style grip frame regulator with front grip electronics?

How well is your level 10 Mag still working? - I sold mine 5+ years ago :(

1. I don't need eyes, my level 10's work great

2. Not a big fan of the mini. Ideal solution would be a emag that has a D cell style battery inside the frame without losing the ability to go to mechanical if the battery dies. That way you could do whatever foregrip style you like and cut down weight.

3. My level 10's work great.

Eyes aren't necessary with a level 10, but are a nice fail-safe.

I like the mini design, but the battery may be better stored in the trigger frame so more of the weight is in your hand.

Mine still works fine.
