I know, just another nice Emag. . . ..right? You could not be more WRONG! ! !

There is a whole story behind this project and it all started with a conversation between Smoothice and myself. . . . "what if you took a normal Emag frame and made it into a Pneumag with the battery case empty, I could put my iPod or a set of keys in it!". . . .

That is how the conversation started. All I needed was a seed to be planted (which Smoothice had done) and I was on my way. I wanted this to be a completely different pneumag though, something that I had not seen done yet.

For this pneumag I wanted the ram to be actuated up and I wanted the shuttle valve to be actuated directly from the trigger no levers or rods. I could bore you with all the details and all of the things I had to do to accomplish this but let me show you a few pictures I will say this though. The rail is relocated and shortened, and the asa was relocated to make room for the LPR. The shuttle valve is actually activated by the safety tang on the trigger and the selector switch limited the trigger travel and will also act as a safety. There is also an added bonus of having the magnetic return on the trigger from the Emag trigger. Enough talk, on to the pictures.

You best be bringing that to TB4.

Whats with the holes in the rail above the pack? Why not plug the holes with SS polished screw plugs. What about a polished selector switch. How does that work as the Safety?

no pretty sure it's a polished x, can sorta see the x etching in one of the pics.

n polished steel is a different color from polished aluminum, so u'd see a contrast if it were an e.

really like the way the rail was done in front. maybe some milling on the sides to go with the body some day? :)

The rail is relocated and shortened, and the asa was relocated to make room for the LPR.

Great work Loguzzzzzz. The part that still confounds me is the rail relocation. I can see from the pictures that it was moved forward about 1/2" - 3/4". Did you modify the sear as well? Or did you create new mounting points on the Valve and Body for the grip frame? I noticed the gripframe isn't using the standard Thumb screw in the back. Is that back the rail is screwed to the valve and the frame is screwed to the rail?

Wow, the questions you think of when doped up on Meds.

Again great work.

Not having one in front of me to look at it's not an emag sear at all. Either a modified mechanical sear that either happened to match up with the rail alignment (could have caused the need for the alignment in the first place. Or it could be a totally custom sear (pivot point changed so that the lengths match with the new sear location)

I love this penu setup. Not sure about the geometry though... how well does it work? Still light enough? Once again, fantastic work... I might have to go polish mine again just because. Like maghog likes to say... "metal was made to be polished"! I love the polished X as well. I could never polish my pewter X which is the only thing holding me back.

The rail was relocated approximately 3/4" forward and then cut to match the end of the battery pack as to not be quite as obvious. The body and valve mount using the standard holes on the rail. Yes there is a rail bushing in there too, shortened of course. I drilled and tapped new holes in the rail to move it forward. A standard RT-Pro sear was used in the stock location as well, the arm was removed. The reason for this relocation was to get the ram to hit the sear in the proper location. The body, rail and valve can be removed as a unit. The valve and body mounting screws are countersunk into the rail for a smooth surface to mount the grip frame.

The valve started life as a standard "X" valve. I stripped and polished only the exterior of the valve as to not change any of the internal tolerances. I have not shot it since it was reassembled but it was working fine when I took it apart to finish the polishing.

If you rotate the selector switch pointing to the rear it limits the trigger travel enough to act as a safety I believe. I will test this when I get the final piece, a piece of clear marcoline.

I tried to show the build in sequence of events and tried to get enough detailed photos to tell most of the story for me.

Thanks Loguzzzzzz, doped up as I am that all actually made a lot of sense. Bolting the rail directly to the body and valve will be a PITA down the road if you need to tweak something, but it's very cool none the less.

I realize that there are a few pieces left to be dealt with but with this 99.9% complete and 100% functional I wanted to get some pictures out there.

I would love to change to trigger to something like Tunablade or the new Magnus E-Sabre as I have troubles walking a double trigger and both of those triggers suit my style better

The trigger pull is as light as you would expect from a quality pneumag conversion and the selector switch does act as a safety when pointing to the rear just as I had planned. Tested this yesterday.

Hopefully I can get some video up sometime soon.

Thanks to all for your suggestions, comments and questions. I hope that I was able to answer all of them to your satisfaction!

So, the battery pack is just there for looks?

See, you're a perfectionist! Once you hear about any kind of shortcomings, you go after it. I knew you'd take care of the imperfections....nice job!

It'll never be complete! Trust me. Once you get all the parts in and play on them, then it will be time to polish again! it's the sort of thing that keeps us out of trouble you know...and hopefully out of having to make project gun after project gun!

Nice work again man!

i noticed you said one of seven about the chord body. Anyone know of a list of owners for those seven? Because I believe there might be an eighth out there

I think there was a third one that was anodized a maroon color that bounced between zazzoo and I believe it was madmarx a couple times. It was on a set of X mag lowers match ano'd with CF grips.

IThe trigger pull is as light as you would expect from a quality pneumag conversion and the selector switch does act as a safety when pointing to the rear just as I had planned. Tested this yesterday.
