how can i can get automags efficiency to over 1000 shots on a 68/45? Are thier any mods I can do to the valve/bolt/spring/regulator that will help?
Thanks for the help,

You should be getting close to 1000 shots. I've never tested how many I get but I have ran out of paint with a little over 1k still in the tank. My typical load is 4 dye lock lids and a full hopper.

would getting 30fps more from a stock mag give you more shots?

Mags tend to be more on the gas hoggish side....
A somewhat rule of thumb is this:
For a 3000 psi tank you figure about getting 10 shots per cubic inch
example- 68/3000 tank would get 10 shots time the 68ci equals 680 shots

For a 4500 psi tank you figure about 15 shots per ci
example- 68/4500 tank would get you about 1020 shots

keep in mind this isnt an exact science its just a rough estimator ive read on here before

You can maximize efficiency. Use a barrel that has minimal porting in the first 8 - 10". The barrel should be about 11" long. Use the short bolt spring. Keep the velocity setting aroung 275fps instead of 295fps. You won't lose much distance but you will greatly increase your efficiency.

i just played this weekend and i keeped a count on how many pods i used on one tank. i got a little over 9 pods out of my 4500/68 cross fire tank. i was using my etac with x valve and lapco 10 inch assault barrel .690 bore, shooting wpn weapons grade paint. velocity was around 270.

That sounds about right. That's about 200in-oz of air per shot.
