I was recently offered a 68 Classic for my DM3. I have been wanting a mag for a while, but I'm not a fan of angled feednecks in the slightest bit. I feel that I shouldn't go for it straight up, but I don't know enough of mags to say that it isn't worth the DM3.

The 68 Classic:
2 single triggers
level 7 bolt
2 barrels
agd back bottle adaptor

The DM3:
Vitrue Board
Eyes
Hybrid 50/50 Grip Frame
Warped Sportz Breech
Shocktech LPR
Volumizers
Snatch Grip Back Plate
14" System X Barrel .689
on/off
Bob Long Torpedo Reg
Clamping Feedneck
Proto Grips

Any info would be great and thanks.

Can't see your pics of the Automag, but from the description, I wouldn't value it for more than $120 depending on the barrels and condition.

Pretty run of the mill stock mag. I have seen stock mags sell for as little as $65-70 on Ebay. Most timea around $100-120. The extra frame is maybe worth $10-20, and the stock barrels aren't worth much at all.

I have no idea what DM3's are selling for, so you will have to decide whether it's a good deal for you or not.

I'd say no. If it was a level 10 tuned bolt, then it would depend on how well the DM3 works. But I would say "no" as it is listed there.

That's the direction I was leaning. I wanted some advice of those more enlightened in the AGD ways.

Thanks for the help

Last i checked, that 50/fifty frame was worth more than the mag.

I'd rather shoot the Matrix, personally.

Even with a Level 10, I wouldnt value the mag at more than $ 150-160.

The resale is horrible on DMs though where as that Mag could be parted out and get $110-$125. But I still wouldn't do the deal because that DM is upgraded...the virtue board alone makes the deal very one-sided.

I mentioned in my initial post that I had no idea what DM3's sell for. I was simply trying to give a valuation for the Automag being offered so the OP could decide if it was worth it or not for him. I did see a couple of DM3's here and on other sites in the neighborhood of $250-300. If that's that case, it isn't a good swap. For that kind of money, you could build a pretty respectable upgraded mag.

I think we both agree not to do the deal. I'd value the Mag at even less, $65-$125. And I'd value the DM3 at much less in the $125-$175 range.

Well, that mag does come with an old aluminum stock frame (instead of the cf frame) and a benchmark (like?) frame. Granted that prolly wouldnt raise the price much, if at all
