i guess its the spring air, or maybe the fact i now live 6 miles from skirmish, but i was thinking it was time to put togeather a mag.
i have alot of experience with emags, but i like the looks of these new fangled pneumags. manly i like the 90 degree grip frames like i had on my devilmag(yeah, i was involved with that bs). anyway, which is better(i use the word "better" in a broad sense)? as i will be putting it togeather myself, i'm looking at overall price and preformance.
so give it to me :) pros and cons boys! pros and cons! :headbang:

Emag's big and heavy and electronic. I loved mine, when I had it.

Pneumags got a 'weird' trigger that you have to be careful not to short stroke. I'm not a fan.

I have yet to play with something like an ego-mag, where the ego board can control the dwell, and thus eliminate the ability to shortstroke. I think if done right, this could be the way to go.

Just my $.02.

This topic has been done a couple of times before.

You can read what others have already said. For my own two cents.... let me just say that I HATE batteries. You never know exactly when they're going to fail, and I'm too cheap/lazy to change them every time I play. Therefore, I built a pneumag. Yeah.... I know that the emag can switch back to mechanical mode if your battery goes dead while playing, but then it's a pure mechanical triggger. It's not light like a pneumag.

So, I would say pneumag all the way, especially if you can get your hands on one of those new vert frames that Tuna made and a cheater from Zap. (He might be still MIA, though.)

what is a cheater from zap? and will the 90 frame from tunaman hold the electro guts foe the emag?

I like them both.

I have 1 of each. EMAG, pnuemag, and an egomag.

Just depends what you are looking for. I would say it is mostly a looks thing to be honest cause the performance of all 3 can be very close.

The other issue is weight. A pnuemag or egomag can be made much lighter then an emag.

All a cheater is is a drop in pnuemag kit. Much easier to install in normal frames because you do not need to do much machining. I've heard with that ease comes a lack in adjust-ability.

If you were to get a tuna M-90 you would be better off using the standard pnuemag kit as that is what is was designed for.

No the M-90 will NOT hold the guts for a emag. Only a AGD emag will hold those guts and battery.

The M-90 can be used to make an electronic mag (not EMAG) with the use of one of Mongoose's foregrips. His foregrips are made to hold a board.

I've never shot an E-Mag, but I've built a "standard" pneu with Cyberaves kit, a Cheater with Zap's hardware and an EgoMag. I've still got the EgoMag and I LOVE it. Uber-smooth, super light (2.5 pounds without tank/hopper), and plenty fast for my needs. It was actually very easy to built too.

I must say, I have used all 3, Emag, Pneumag, Egomag/emaggo.

My Xmag sits while I use my Emaggo. I feel by far it is the best of both worlds.

I have to say I enjoy the PneuMag the most. I like the trigger feel, complete lack of shortstroking and dead batteries.

I must that that as a builder / owner of Pneumags and Emaggos I shoot a pneumag as my primary. If I really want to just throw paint for the sake of throwing paint the I will use one of my Emaggos.

I hate admit this but out of all 5 of my E-mag variants. Most are loaners and the only one I have ever shot is a game is my SFL.

I will say this though, the use if my "loaners" has caused a few AO members to cross that line into Electros.

Some of the guys I am referring to have had some very nice high end guns, only to use their Emaggo more times than not! :spit_take

I say in this order: Pneumag, Emaggo, E-Mag

is the tuna grip the only 90 degree frame that will take the what have you you need for a pneumag? and i'm not really concerned about weight; i like to use a 114 4500(if they still make them). also, antone give me a link to the tuna grip...thanks

Technically it is a MAGNUS frame and Tuna is the Dealer. At this point they are only 90* frames.

At this point they are only 90* frames.

The M-90 comes drilled and tapped for the pnuemag mod though. All other frames will require work. Some more then others. But the use of a drill/tap/dremel is still needed in the other frames.

The M-90 probably makes loguzzzzz cry a little bit because with this frame you don't need his services. He is AO's master pnuemag modder in my opinion. Pretty much any frame you want pnued he can do. He actually just completed the first emag framed pnuemag. I'm sure you can find his thread somewhere. Its pretty awesome if you ask me.

no. there are other 90* frames out there that will work. some work better than others, (meaning they require less machining/fabrication)

RPG Chimera will work

Logic 90* will work (pictured below)

I think you missed the point of what Smoothice was saying.

The M-90 is bolt up ready and comes with all the screws necessary. All you do is provide the internal pneumatics and a tiny bit of time. It is even tapped for the internal LPR and all you need is a modified asa. Which oh, by the way, I do ;)

All other frames will required drilling, tapping and possibly a little mill (or Dremel) work. The hardest thing you need to do on the MAGNUS M-90 frame is trim the trigger rod to the proper length and make some fine tuning adjustments.
