Thinking about getting a Gen2/3 MicroMag body I have anoed, but one thing makes me wonder. It seems like there is an insert in the part of the body where the valve fits in? I can't tell if it's steel or aluminum? Does it come out? Anyone know? Wondering if I might just be better off getting it powdercoated?

It is pressed in so you just need to press it out. Doing that without damaging it is going to be the difficult part. Good luck.

That would require a good annodizer. Good luck with that, but in theory would work.

Yes it can be masked, almost any decent anodizer can do it. I've seen/had them done by A+, Kohn, GBA, and ODD.

There is absolutely no need to remove it.

By the way, your Micromag is a Gen2.
