X-valve Leaking Down the Barrel

Hey guys. I have a X valve with ULT. It leaks down the barrel. It stops when I hold the trigger, so I know it is in the powertube. I've lube it all, and even tried to take out a shim. When I took out the shim, it went beserk. Shooting as soon as I aired it up, and rting out of control. The leak got worse. So, I put the shim back in, and lubed everything. Still a small leak. What should I do next?

Take out all of the shims, go down 1 carrier size using the oring from the carrier that is installed now. Report back.

I switched out the #7 o-ring, and it seemed to fix the problem. Now, i need to tune the ULT. I want either a walkable mag, or an RT mag. With ULT, I've heard it is hard to tune it into an RT mag. So, how do I make it walkable? I can't figure out how to take off the on/off assembly...

Shims are used to control the where the pin seats in the o'ring. The less you have the less reactivity in the trigger pull. The more shims you have, the more reactive the trigger is. If you don't have enough shims, it will be too easy to shortstroke. Add one shim at a time until you like how the trigger is. The maximum number of shims you can use is six. The kit comes with two installed and three extra.

I am having the same issue with a x-valve I just bought. Finally got a chance to play around with it this weekend based on all the info everyone gave me, but everything I tried did not fix the issue. Dumb question after looking at x-valve diagram, but what is the #7o-ring? Is it the one on the power tube tip?

Also, I noticed I have 4 carriers, but each is paired with one that is exactly the same size (2 with1 ring and 2 with no rings) so I only have two. Is that normal to get that in the package?

I may try to take it apart again one more time, but I think I am going to send it to the techs to work on.

Gave it one more try. Changed all the o-rings and same issue. I am just going to send it in.

Are all of the O rings broken in? I think that's what's wrong with mine. Shoot about a bag through it, and see if that helps. That's what I'm gonna try.

Let me know how it goes. I went thru a whole tank of dry firing. Of course I was changing things in out.

You are not going to get a walkable mag with just a ULT. Depends on your definition of walkable I guess but I wouldn't call it walkable with a ULT.

You'll need to pneu it for that.

I figured. I guess I'll make it RT as much as possible. Should I just remove all the shims to make it rt like crazy?

You add shims to the ULT make it more reactive. Add shims one at a time until it either goes full auto or doesn't reset. Take the shim out that caused it not to work. The maximum amount of shims you can install is usually 6.

Use your field strip screw. Stick it down in the PT, apply a little pressure into the valve, give it a 1/4 turn and pull out.
