Sooooo I have a generation 1 micro body that I picked up a few weeks ago (in all it's fixed body glory). I was going to turn it into another r/t q-poded wonder BUT I'm getting a Gen 3 from my wife as a birthday present (yeah she is that wonderful) SOOOO I have been thinking long and hard about turning the Gen 1 into a pistol. I figure it's already half way there. I was wondering if anyone has tried something like this before? I have a direct feed coming from PTP (along with a pile of other stuff) so I figured if I could clamp a spring feed feed tube onto it and maybe drill it for a back bottle and get a 12 gram adapter? Anyone have any ideas or experiences to share?

checked it out and already sent him a PM, I was wondering if anyone did it with a right feed body. Makes it a bit different because I don't think I can go right off the vavle like that. I would run out of room. But I will see when I get parts. I am not trying to track down a feed tube like that... and kicking myself for not thinking of it before I searched for his thread

I have seen it done with a phantom vsc feed attached to the side and a reversed valve, pics should be here somewhere someone might reember

You could put a reverse valve on it. Or have a 2nd hole drilled on the valve you have to make it a reverse valve.

Depending on your level of proficiency, you might think about an under the barrel ASA. It makes it easier to deal with the right feed problem.

This is my first pistol build. Now granted it's a little easier to do on a classic mag as opposed to a Micro, but you get the general idea. Since you're running line instead of direct connecting to the valve, you get a lot of lattitude on the feed area.

Steve Spinosa had someone machine him some adapters to use on the feedgates of micromags to allow one of the clip designs to just clip on. It was slick as heck, and could possibly be done with a dremel and drillpress if you were feeling sparky...

Do you have any idea what kind of spring feed you want to use? That's really your starting point...

Here's one I built using a PT Xtreme feed tube (yeah, I know, it's a Spyder  ). The tubes are cheap and easy to get. I cut the powertube off, drilled and mounted the adapter I had made, it works great. I'm working on doing a Classic next.

Very cool! I was trying to upload pictures to show the beginning of everything but the AO forum won that little battle, now i have to try to remember my password for photosharing. So I was thinking of using a PTP warpfeed adapter atleast to start to hold the spring feed. the 12 gram was a different story. I did a few sketches of what I wanted it to look like, I wanted to have it right off the valve with a Vert adapter and a male to male and then if I could get a couple of male to female asa's that had a 90* in them I would be able to curve it around to stop some of the freezing. I have to think more on that but on paper it works

You mean something like this. I used a two hole bottomline asa. I just cut the mount part off, file it smooth, a little paint on the end and I was good to go! In between the ASA and the end of the 12 gram holder I put a little piece of very fine screen that came out of an old reg I had to help stop liquid CO2.

Your specific media does not exist! :-P What I was thinking after puttering around IISports (the devil in CA) is getting two spyder vertical front asa/volumizers and doing some custom sawing pugging and connecting to give me the U bend I wanted. Now I have to dig and see if I have any around here (because who doesn't have a box of spyder SE parts in the closet) and go from there. And I need to buy a 6-pack for my guy with the CNC mill ;-)

Thinking about using a power feed bringing the feedtube close to over the top of the barrel..but I kinda like it all being tight on the right, who knows

Just waiting on PTP stuff to arrive. So does anyone know where the cheapest and easiest place to get a male 2 male adapter?

Hardware store in the plumbing section. You're looking for a 1/8 NPT m/m. Easy as pie.

Good to know! I heard that it was a 1/4" thou

Did you ever get yourself a lighter reg?

M98Punk

If you couldn’t find something, I have an old Air America raptor reg that’s been collecting dust for a good decade. they fit the classic valves and make a good replacement for the stock regs. but it's old school stuff.

Would that even be any lighter? IDK I am excited to get going on this.... been bugging Forest to find out when I will be getting my parts cause I can't even mock it up till I get the stuff from PTP

Got a hurricane Valve (slight but noticeable difference) PTP actually had to send me another shipment because mine went awol. Hopefully I'll ahve the parts by this weekend.

Can I find a Male 2 Male adapter that would fit tank threads at a hardware store? I am headed to one tomorrow to get my male2male for the VA and I am trying to get my UX chamber all plumbed too. Very excited hope to have some dry fires by next weekend!

New pictures up tomorrow!
Got my parts!
Dry fired the gun!

Have the Hurricane back. direct feed and PTP Adapter. Took a trip up to ACE hardware today (yet again the box store is worthless) Found an adapter for the Vertical Adapter and the Male 2 Male for the U-adapter to Vertical adapter. But couldn't get a connector for the adapter because the volumizers on Spyders are apparently metric so I'll probably have to get some alum rod and thread them myself.

Now I just need to rut down the direct feed about 1/2" cut off the end of the warp feed adapter and the end of the spring feed and shave off the mounting crap then weld the two together . Oh and ship the valve off to get the loguezzzzzz treatment to bump up the efficiency of a 12 gram

There she is!

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/M98Punk/Stage%203/Milldrillandfill.jpg

Just need to mill, drill, fill, and will it to be complete

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/M98Punk/Stage%203/Feed1.jpg

I can cut down about 1/4 of an inch off of the direct feed to give her a bit more of a low profile.

This will look really nice. I just don't get what you're going to do with the Spyder ASAs and volumizers.

The two volumizers are going to be threaded together *Insert Shatner voice* "metric!" the two ends with the double o-rings are going to be cut off and plugged flush then I am going to run the CO2 thru that with Vertical adapter off of the valve then the U then the 12 gram. Should keep the CO2 out/ give it some room to expand. And it will face the CO2 in a way that when it it holstered and in action the liquid isn't flowing in..... may work may not either way I got them from II for 3 bucks each so if it doesn't work *shrugs* I had fun

The post from a few days ago obviously didn't like me.... Here are some pictures!!! Cherry popping on Sunday

She is not quite done but she is at the point where I can test her a bit and get a feel for her. made some changes and my machinest friend welded the PT feed right on the micro adapter which made it TOO tight of a profile so I had to grind down the ASA still need to take a 1/2" triangle off of it to make it perfect but here she is!

i kinda like that.. i would have been a stickler about the stickfeed being more flush how it sits, id want it against the body .i would aslo put the powerlet adapter under the barrel and run a lil stainless rubbercoated line the same color as the anno back to the valve to give it a tighter side profile and a lil room for the gas to expand. it would fit nicely into many holsters that way they usually have a fat bottom LOL but all an all a nice lil project i presume ur going to reanno the whole monster ? i may have to make something like this when im bored but i dont know if i would even use it LOL well maybe as a back up to my longbow but i useually just carry more ammo would be fun going out with a stockclass harness and just this good for prop/flag running

my goal with the project was to do no damage to the body since there are so few of them in circulation. So I was limited but yeah the pictures make her look more lumpy because of the missing paint her e and there. As for it fitting in my hoster it works great with my IIsports holster fits in better then my USP. And I LOVE how this thing is weighted feels like an extension of my bear paw. Overall I am VERY happy with how it turned out and I'm excited to use her tomorrow (Sunday) [It's midnight here!]
