If I avoid the ULT and use a preset HP tank will I be able to get an RT effect?

Thanks.

You will always get the RT effect. That is what the retro valve does. The question is how much reactivity will you get? If you use the short level 10 bolt spring and the most efficient barrel for your setup, you will get a reactive gun. Will it go full auto, probably not. The retro valve is not designed for that. That is why people use high input pressures and shorter on-off pins. They enhance the reactivity by operating outside the normal range of the valve.

So if I want to have the gun go full auto what do I need to do. I'd like a gun that goes full auto if I want but is easily able to keep shooting semi.

The easiest method is to shim the on-off assembly. That effectively shortens the on-off pin. Try it and see how it feels in your setup. If you don't get enough reactivity, you will probably have to increase the bottle regulator pressure to about 1000psi.

If I use shims does that mean I am using a ULT on/off or can I shim a RT on/off. I heard that ULT will decrease reactivity.

Just buy an emag on/off pin, you'll get more reactivity than you ever could hope for. The RT on/offf fine but you don't get nearly the same amount of reactivity from it. Shimmng the ULT is also fine but you'll really need an adjustable reg to get the best results from it.

Is that with an RT on/off?

"sweet baby jesus" , you weren't kidding !!! 1 E-Mag on/off pin + 1 quad 0-ring combined with the X-valve = RT time ... :shooting:
