I aquired a ReTro valve with the field strip screw broken down inside the hole. Is there anybody that can fix this, and is it cost effective?
It looks like a bigger job that my skills and hand tools will provide.

Sounds the person had a "field strip screw" that was actually from an early Emag battery pack.

$15 gets you a 3-piece "Grabit" Broken Screw Extractor set that will do the job... A good tool to have anyway, and a great price. Its an "as seen on TV" product but it works great.

Sounds interesting. It's rescessed, though.

Sounds interesting. Got a link?

I would, but for some reason my browser isnt liking cut&paste tonight, nor will it let me use all of my punctuation marks.

Google "Grabit Tool" or try QVCs website.

the craftsman versions are a little more pricey but with lifetime guarantee it was worth it to me and i know that sears isn't going anywhere.

here's the one in my tool box

Think i caught mine when sears was giving like 30% off of all tools so it wasn't that bad

Looks like someone tried to drill it out already.
I think it needs to be re-drilled and tapped.

Thanks for you help guys. I'm just going to send it back. Would have been nice to have a Micromag RT valve, but I'm pretty under water on this marker already. :wow:

If you want to PM me you can send it to me and I will get it out for you no charge.
I have 20+ years in the tool and die industry so I will not hack it.
Let me know either way.

Looks deep but not unfixable.
