Has anyone else here checked these out? It just became available last week, and no one has one yet, but they look beastly!

"That's why it's also the most dangerous laser ever created."

"Warning: Extremely dangerous is an understatement to 1W of laser power. At close range, this Class 4 beam will cause immediate and irreversable retinal damage."

That is awesome, but my question is: WHY?

Yeah what purpose does this thing have for the average consumer? I'm very confused as to why it's being sold and what the market is.

Unfortunatly if your skin does not catch on fire first, it will create cancer cell if you direct the beam into your skin due to blue radiation. deff not the kind of laser they use for tattoo removal, lol.

High power lasers are for laser hobbiest. just as any small niche they have there own place, though small as it may be. The actual use, though impractical it may be, is still the for those looking for it.

I can't way to get mine just to try some low light photography with, and basically just for collectors sake. You know the feeling...most dangerous thing in the world...Oh I Got to Have It!! Lol though basically I under stand the only thing I can point the laser at is into the night sky, which is what I bought it for, You realize people can see that beam shooting straight up into the sky from hundrudeds of miles around? Lol

There is a part of me that also wants to take it apart and put the diode and internals into a master replicas light saber and just put it on the lock up glass mantale, it's just one extra wow factor when you go and switch the fake/wreak lightsaber on :-)
