Hey guys. I just dusted off my old 2005 Spyder Electra a few days ago. I was cleaning it up the other day, and realized it was missing the striker buffer (the black rubber ring that sits behind the striker that looks like this. (http://pboutfitterz.com/images/P/spyder%20striker%20buffer.jpg)) I was just wondering if I'll still be able to shoot the gun without it, or if it will be needing a new one. Thanks in advance guys. I know this isn't general paintball stuff, but I really didn't know where to put it on here.

You can shoot without it... it wouldn't hurt to get a new one, but you can also make one out of a piece of hose if you can find the right size handy...

Thanks guys. I tried it out since you've replied and now I've come across another problem. When I pull the trigger, it fires, sputters a bit, and then stays uncocked. I really don't know what's wrong with this gun. Any ideas?

your out of air or your regulator is output to low of pressure to blowback the action.

I've got about 2000 PSI left in the tank, and I only have the stock gas-though, not a regulator.

then your tank is outputing too low. is it an LP tank?

other problem might be it needs new batteries, striker oring, or the velocity adjustment is too high

I'll try charging the battery. I haven't had it on the charger for about two weeks so that might be the problem. Also I'll turn the velocity down and see if that would help. Finally, do you know which size of an o-ring will fit on the striker?

The striker orings on Spyders need to be softer than normal. I don't think that the normal tank orings will work. I believe that they are size 015.

Do NOT shoot w/o it. It will cause your striker to mushroom and possibly ruin the marker.
If you go to the hardware store you should be able to find something very similar, or order it from one of many retailers.
