i have chimera frame looks to be never used.
how do i get it to be a sleeper pneumag?
because the bottom of the frame has that hole in the bottom?
<a href="http://s741.photobucket.com/albums/xx60/thetoolishere/?action=view&amp;current=100_0557.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/xx60/thetoolishere/100_0557.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
are you supose to put pneumatics in it or electronics?

i have this insert that mag79 gave me he told me to use this insert, he said i have to use liquid nitrogen to get it to be properly installed.
<a href="http://s741.photobucket.com/albums/xx60/thetoolishere/?action=view&amp;current=100_0565.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/xx60/thetoolishere/100_0565.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
how am i supose to get this inserted properly into my frame and have the sleeper mod work?
pleas let me know.

thankyou,

Ok your orginal question was about the sear pin.

Look at this thread:
http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=231072

That hole gets tapped with a 1/8-27 npt tap, this is where your lpr gets screwed into.

I will post more pics

I mill the bottom of the frame to remove the grooves next to the hole. It also allow the frame to sit flush with the cp on/off.

The inside of the frame is also milled to allow better clearance for the lpr

I can mill your frame and install your pneumatics. You can contact Loguzzzzzz he might be closer to you, he can do it as well.

You know Alex that instead of posting pictures and trying to be helpful, you could be packing up some gear and coming out to shoot some people tomorrow. It would be good for you.

I kind of doubt that I will be there that long...you could always play hooky...or show up, clock in, sneak off and play for a few hours and then show back up and clock out to come home. No one would notice. ;)

no, you dont need it if you mill the inside of the frame

After you drill and tap for an lpr and get someone to install pnuematic, it would just be cheaper to find a Magnus M90 frame

The Pnuematics drop right into the M90 frames with out trouble

After all the drilling and tapping and working to put into that Chupacabra frame, you could have just an M90

But if you determined to use that frame, id contact Loguzzzzz/ Practice Target to do the pnuematic install

oh i can do the milling & tapping i just like to give seasoned members $$$/props on a forums they operate out of.

i run a cadd/cam shop so its cool.

and true about the m90. but there were no avail.
and i know how to get the Pneumatics in this frame no problem.

but thankyou for the info.

The center hole on the chimera was origionally for intelli feed cables. Hence the grooves on either side of the hole. I'm guessing that the insert is an interference fit tube designed to turn that hole into an air passage without milling the frame.

I have no idea what modifications would be needed to the ASA to get it to work.

Mag79 pretty much covered the asa part

Never seen an " extender" piece like that

Me either, but I like it... I'm guessing the top is internally threaded, and you externally thread the bottom? If only the top was groved/slotted/hex or something.

After it's installed it's not going to move

A while back I I was modding someone umf, they wanted a sleeper. I wasn't sure how to make the passege for the lpr as the umf has 4 mount holes for the bottom asa. Thats were the extender came up. I milled a hole in the frame and fab'd the extender with a slightly bigger diameter. The frame was heated and the extender was dropped in liquid nitrogen and in it went. I have also used it in a chimera frame.

The top of the extender was internally threaded for the lpr. I also made one to thread into a bullet lpr for triton sleeper.

Not sure if my Chimera frame is differenct, but the hole in the bottom of mine was already larger than 1/8npt... I could easily stick the LPR in and out of the hole. Were some milled larger?

Mag79, I really have to give you some public props. You have taken this idea and come up with some really neat solutions both borrowed, and your own like all of them are. But not only are you willing to help people with thier own fabrication, show pictures of your solutions, AND go so far as to suggest another individual who is doing them simply because they were closer.

It is rare to see someone be that helpful and open about what you are doing for a service that some others are making a KILLING on. No offence to any of those others meant at all, after all this is a free source kind of thing....held as a patent by, well, someone?

Its not hard to tell you and Mag79 are good friends. Nothing like boosting him up cause he gave some advice. If i recall corectly i spent a LOT of time with mag79 at Tunaball 3 going over how to build a pneu and give plenty of public advice. You act as if he is one of a kind. People have been giveing advice on stuff like this for many years. Again I was not the first to post a "HOW TO PNEUMAG" thread but i also posted ALL MY ideas and how i did them here, Not to mention the Magmod set up... I wonder where that design came from? :ninja:
