for a barrel to be good with broken paintballs,it has to break the paintball first, which i dont think is what he is looking for in a barrel.

CP, J&J and Lapco are all good barrels at a good price. Get one that goes with the paint you like to shoot most. I would'nt go with a 16" though. The extra length over 10" really won't buy you anything.

He is a back player,so 16 inch will give him alittle extra range to reach his targets easier.

That's true..he'll get 2 more inches than a 14", 4 more inches than a 12", and 6 whole more inches than a 10";)

the only advantage of getting a 16 over a 10 is with a barrel such as the CP were as the last 6 or so inches are ported. this would cause a 10 inch barrel to only have 4" of actual barrel, the rest is just for silencing. you'll want somewhere between 8-12 inches of unported barrel length to achieve maximum gas efficiency, once their is a muzzle break or ports, the gas is allowed to simply exit the barrel around the ball.
