View Full Version : How to remove a Ninja regulator?

I'm thinking I'll order the 1200 psi reg from Ninja. Don't want to cough up to swap the whole tank + reg but nervous about removing the existing reg without damaging it. Any advice?

Yes, I could ship the whole thing to them but shipping a tank cross-border sounds like a huge pain.

Also, anyone know roughly how many shots one could expect out of a 68/45 with this reg? 12" bbl: Freak back and AA front.

Removing the reg is fairly easy. I remove the gauges and fill nipple from the reg on the tank then grab the tank and reg with strap wrenches and twist. For a really stubborn tank you can put the reg in a vise and tighten it lightly with some sort of padding around it, I use the rubber from the storage wrench, then put a strap wrench on the tank and twist it off. I would try without the vise first though.

Use strap wrenches to remove. Follow instructions with new reg for installation. Pretty easy!

Can anyone currently using this setup comment on shots tank. Is 68/45 going to be enough volume to get through a couple of games Without filling?

You're not going to get more shots with a 1200 reg. They'll go a lot faster, though! :shooting:

Oh I know I'll get less than I'm getting now at 1000 psi. Just trying to figure out how much less. 1200 output means you need what, 1400 for decent flow? That means on a 4500 tank I have 3100 psi t play with, assuming I can get a full fill at the field, which is often not the case.

In other words; is a simple reg swap going to just leave me frustrated? Should I be looking at a 90/45 instead?

make sure the tank is completely empty otherwise that reg ain't going anywhere.

Thanks. I decided to just go ahead and order the whole reg/tank. This way I can keep what I have in case I want to use or loan out my L-7 or Cocker. Just have to make sure not to mix `em up.
