I just got a MiniMag and was wondering about it's current value

when i first started playing paintball in 1994, it was rental Tippmanns and F1 Illustrators

Then i got my very first " tourney " gun, a MiniMag, Basically it was a Level 7 AIR valve with vertical ASA setup, power feed hopper left. and it cost me $ 550 Canadian back in 1996.

the barrel in question is stainless steel, brushed finish, 12 inches long

One - piece construction, milled for a T - Slot , ported muzzle break tip

The body could be a chopped Minimag one or just a regular power feed Automag. Either way, the feed tube was chopped for sure.

As for the barrel, I might be wrong but it looks like a JJ one to me.

Yeah, Minimags have the elongated body with vents in it. Unless someone chopped the extension off.

the body is a standard polished powerfeed right but it has been cut down

the barrel appears to ba a variation of the J&J Hard Chrome Barrel, Auto Mag

instead of spiral porting or inline porting, the barrel has sets of holes near the muzzle

Current value is pretty low, you might to be able to find someone to pick it up for $150

I say about $90.00 from what I have seen on the bay recently.

I think $150 would be too much. I'd say between $100 and $130 at max.

Thanks for the valuation guys, now trying to determine the exact name of the barrel.

This is not the exact same barrel as just the porting is different but it really makes me think your's a J&J too:

possibly, except the barrel in that photo has L-slot to lock in place, my barrel is a T-slot

however i am pretty convinced it is an older J&J Hard Chrome barrel, maybe even back in the day when Earon Carter and Palmer's Pursuit were making similar barrels.

Definitely not chrome over brass, it is definitely stainless steel.

Eight Rows of Porting that alternates:

5 holes ; 3 holes ; 5 holes ; 3 holes ; 5 holes ; 3 holes ; 5 holes ; 3 holes

Makes sense to me. J&J made several different portings on their barrels back in the day. I've seen lots of hard chrome barrels differing just on the porting. As for two L slots or one T slot, this is also something I've seen before.

when i saw the T-slot i thought hmmmm good project for a vertical feed barrel

That, I don't know. All my center feed barrels (one newer J&J, one Dye Ultralite and one SP Freak) all have only one L slot. But it could work. I guess you have to try it.

I have several really old J&J barrels, both stainless and ceramic, that have T-slots on them. I have one that looks almost identical to that one and its a J&J stainless.
