I just got the email myself:

"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATIONAL ACTION SPORTS
Enters the Paintball Wholesale Business

Syracuse, NY (June, 24th, 2010) – Dealers, fields and players alike have a new option for their paintball supply needs with the new National Action Sports distribution warehouse. NAS aspires to bring back the “old school” way of doing business with owners and sales representatives that are available 7 days a week to help playing fields and stores with their needs. NAS will be “keeping it simple” with a limited number of SKU’ in stock of the most important items for field and store owners including paintballs, tanks, hoppers, goggles and parts from most of the major manufacturers.

In addition, NAS will also exclusively carry both the HeadRush and Special Ops brands which are wholly owned subsidiaries of NAS. HeadRush has been in paintball since the early 1990’s and focuses on the tournament scene and the action sports lifestyle. Special Ops Paintball is one of the largest scenario focused brands in the industry. With full manufacturing now in the NAS warehouse in NY, players and field owners will notice the resurgence of this iconic brand with big announcements coming soon on hard and soft goods.

National Action Sports is well financed, open for business and taking orders now with thousands of products in stock, the owners/operators of the business Ken Crane and Brian Russell are long time players and industry veterans and they are available direct by phone or email. Brian Russell has this to say “We won’t be the largest and we don’t want to be the largest, but hopefully we can provide a solid alternative to all the field and store owners out there that would like to purchase from a company that doesn’t have all the corporate feel and layers that seem to have entered the paintball industry.”

National Action Sports is wholesaler / distributor based in the North East, USA specializing in paintball products carrying major brands including Special Ops, HeadRush, DYE, GI Sportz, Empire, Invert, Valken, Guerilla, Ninja, Planet Eclipse and more. For more information on National Action Sports including dealer applications please visit www.nationalactionsports.com or call (315) 453-7874.

And now he's no longer associated with NAS or Spec Ops.

I stopped by their facility this afternoon and was told he was no longer with them.
A lot can happen in 4 days.

Located in NY I take it? I should stop by.

Also, odd that Ken Crane is involved. There was a lot of sketchy stuff going on with some members of his staff at Performance Angel, and it seems like they have (for the most part) folded as of about a year ago. From what I hear he's no longer an Angel MT, if it's possible to somehow lose that status?

This is all very strange.
