Ok, I looked through the FAQ's, but no luck. I don't know, maybe I was in the wrong place. Anyway, I got a minimag recently. First non threaded body. Do the twistlock barrels come in left or right flavors? How do you know which you have? The hopper will sit on the upper right of the marker so the paint feeds in the top left. Thanks in advance everyone.

Twistlock barrels come in Right, Left, and Center. Some barrels can go right or left. I'm not sure if a barrel can be right, left and center.

If your hopper sits on the upper right and it's a powerfeed body, then you'll need a Twistlock-Left barrel. Insert with the feed hole up, and twist left to lock it in place.

Ok! I figured it was something like that. Thanks!

A lot of aftermarket barrels come with slotting to suit left or right configuration, but one of them is usually blocked at the end with milling unfinished.

You can easily file the closed slot to open it fully making the barrel a universal fit. I've done this on at least 10 of mine so far so they fit both my L/F mag and R/F minimag bodies.

I've got one of these with the blocked off slot. It baffles me as to why they would "almost" finish the job when a fraction of a second more on the mill and it could be all done? It doesn't hurt anything to have complete channels for left and right feeds.

No not at all. I have done it to a couple of my old twist locks. You just have to remember not to over twist when removing the barrel. That is also why they didn't finish the milling on them for the most part.

The blanked off slot helps to stop you twisting the barrel the wrong way and blocking the feed neck
