I realize there are some technical inaccuracies with the picture, but I'm curious if anyone has tried something like this for relocating the trigger.

Thats what I was thinking too...

Personally Ive always wondered why the sear pivot is after the lever..

I like where your head is at though.. would be fun to try!

No, with the proper geometry, pulling back on the trigger would push the back end of the sear up, and thus push the front of the sear down, i.e. fire the gun.

The fact that it would be a slider trigger is more of a coincidence. (Although I do prefer slider triggers.)

The whole point is to move the grip/trigger backwards on the frame in the simplest way possible.

then why dont you attatch a trigger shoe to the part of the sear that sticks down?

That has been done. Chuff city.

As for slider mags, that's also been done using a sear/pin combo and a cocker frame with a modified trigger plate.

Hrm. Was there a post on this?

I just tried a mockup of the direct-sear action and it seemed to work just fine. Might come down to how the "shoe" is designed, which is kind of tricky.

It's tight, but I think this is the best route.

That will work, I did something like that some 10 years ago with my spyder-mag conversions.

Which, the trigger shoe on the sear or the slider?

The sliders work just fine if done right.

The issue with the trigger shoe on the sear that I encountered was bolt resetting. It was difficult to shoot consistently; like trying to play with a poorly timed Autococker. Granted, with the reactivity an X-valve that might be a different case but I tried with a Classic because I was dealing with a magazine fed marker and wanted to shorten the setup by capping the valve and moving the frame back.
