A meteorite exploded over mother Russia the other day, damaging a bunch of building and hurting some people. The footage of what was caught on camera is pretty damn amazing, looks like something straight out of a movie. It's a little terrifying at the same time.

...and in a mere 13 days we send Bruce and Ben up on the shuttle to save us all.

I haven't found any sources stating that number.

Fox news,
MSNBC,
the Daily Mail UK website,
Reuters, and
the Guardian (another UK Newspaper)
The Associated Press

all state around 900 up to 1100 people being injured. I'm not sure where you got your number from.

Regardless, with the Tunguska explosion and now this, all in about a 100 year span......I think it's safe to say that God hates Russia and is actively lobbing Meteors across the solar system to hit that 1 "special" country.

There are some cool videos of this. One looked like it was a class room and then BOOM the windows are blown inside.

Are we sure this is t a stunt by JJ Abrams for a new movie? :D

Pretty interesting. Amazing how many videos seem to be around already. Seriously, they seem to have cameras EVERYWHERE in Russia. Living in Florida most of my life, we had sonic booms quite often but nothing of this magnitude. I guess I never realized that the sonic boom got that much stronger the faster an object went. We had some that were pretty loud and rattle the windows a little, but never anything that would blow windows out like that. Glad to hear it was only minor injuries for the most part, it would have been significantly worse if the meteorite have plowed down mainstreet or something.
