So I've got a couple unused classic valves and wanted to put them to use...got a couple questions about capped valves

Where can you get a cap for the valve?
Will any regulator work?
What regulators are most 'consistent'?

Thanks :headbang:

Deus Machina was making them but seems to have vampored. I have a PM to him but he has yet to reply.

As a side note I need a cheap valve if you're looking to sell. Stress cheap.

You're gonna want a regulator with a high recharge rate. I use Sidewinders on mine. If you need a cap let me know.

I do need a cap...I like the look of the sidewinders also...are they still in production/ readily available

yes they are still in stock and still produced. be sure not to get the sst sidewinder its range is 0-400 psi and doesnt like high inputs.

ITT the older Sidewinders are actually better looking. If using for a pump, you don't need to worry about recharge as much. I have a SW on a Pneu project, but on a pump I have a BL reg that works quite well.

FF, I may be interested in a cap if you're making them.

I tried to get XMT to make some. I'm sure he is taking a break.

Last time I contacted him via MCB about pump kits he said he was quitting production

Think you're confusing XMT and XM15.

I need a cap. You still willing to do a run? Would like to bump this and see what we can get made. Anyone else?

Ironicly enough I just sent XMT a message again to try and twist his arm. I want 2 so I can cap both of my McFly Mags. I would like to find a way to have the cap completely flush with the back also.

Not sure if it would be possible to have it flush due to the air passage. Just something very simple would do me fine. Not wanting to derail this into 20 different special requests and having a potential milling person drop it.

What do caps go for?

What do caps go for?

Deuce was selling them for $25. He was offering some options like knurled edges, gauge ports, holes to used for tightening etc. Not necessary for me. They also came with the o-ring. I would be willing to pay a little more if they were fancier somehow.

I would dedinately want at least 1

mine were a good price for the pair...

I might be looking to get another classic valve to actually use this on

Would caps like that have a market? They look good, but seem pretty long - I appreciate some of the possible performance gains from using certain inline regulators in lieu of the integrated reg, but I assume most people are looking for a shorter setup?

Any interest in doing a run Frizzle Fry?

Not something I'm capable of doing at the moment.

I might make some of these valves caps for you guys. I have a cnc lathe open. Just gotta see if they make burst discs with NPT instead of NPTS threads. My version will be tapped in the back with a burst disc....its the only way i will make them.

Not even the plain ones?

Why? While I could live with it, I would rather not have it. Anyone using this will be using an exteral regulator that will have a pressure vent. Essentially to cause issues, the bottle reg would have to fail and then the inline reg as well. Isnt putting a burst disk in just overkill?

I am in for 2. The burst disc requirement is fine with me. I should be able to pay in full by Wednesday if you need funds for material. Start up a dealer thread and lets get this rolling. Maybe someone will send/post some designs to inspire as well.

The shorter the better!

Got my sidewinder reg in...anyone know what the ideal pressure to have classic valves at?

You will have to adjust if similar how you would adjust the adjuster on the valve reg. iirc it is somewhere in the 600psi range.

whats the big deal with capped valves?

For me its just something different and makes for a shorter overall gun...makes for a more unique gun?its all the fad? I've aways wanted to do it an feel I need to put my classics to use...another mag to build haha

No one said it was a big deal. Just something that a few of us have an interest in. I like them as they make the valve lighter.
