Just got my SHP reg mounted on a tank and I wanted to compare to RT RoF to what I can pull on my Pneumag.

.Wav analysts:
First I looked at the first seven shots to confirm it was 1 peak per shot:
88178
Then the pneumag (14 cps)
88179
Then the RT (also 14 cps)
88180

Are you one fingering 14bps on the pneu?

Yeah. I grew up in an arcade. It's a Street Fighter skill born from ::jab jab throw:: lol.

Fess up. You played as Blanka and just sat back crouched in his electric mode the entire round, didn't you?

lol. If it worked I would have done it. I'm the cheapest.

Yes(ish). I'm using ZS4 a (free) video editor so it would probably be easier for you to do yourself. Depending on recording device and/or conditions, the waveform is sometimes 2 (even 3) peaks per shot. So you need a control at the beginning where you know exactly how many you've fired. If you are in a confined space the echo can cause "false" peaks. If you are shooting paint at nearby targets you can get false peaks as well.

Once I looked at my control string (seven shots) I could then read the wav. I zoomed in on a 1 second section of the .wav (zooms using the mouse wheel and displays the amount of time represented in the window).

Let me try on the ones you posted.... stay tuned

AND:
88181

This is from your w/paint video shot outside. Without a control string it's hard to tell peaks per shot so this either represents 10.5 or 21 cps. The ear test tells me 21.

Nice vids!

I ways enjoy watching comparisons like that.

Is it possible you can do one of my videos as well?

I was sure someone was going to comment on your tiny little bowling balls :) Having played Candlepin my entire life I can't understand how people can play 10 pin.

So what is the output pressure on your SHP reg ?

It was reading 1150 at the shop. We couldn't decide if the gauge was 50 high or 50 low.

14 is on the low side for 1100. It may pick up later. So, when a field says "no RT", you get out the pneu anyway.

When I first set it up it was faster (not sure how much but it was noticable). I switched out the on/off pin (.73ish) for the stock pin. Then I tooled around with the lx a bit. The combination of the two slowed down the effect to the point where it wont truely sweet spot. I'm assuming it will gear up a bit when the carrier oring wears in.

...

From the second vid. 23 - 24 bps!

ROF is very consistent on each of your strings.

21 bps with the SHP at its lowest setting... hmmm

What are you using for an on/off? What pin length?

No problem mang. Found a nice virus free service that can download and re-encode any vids off the web (keepvid.com). The I separate the audio in ZS4 and open the sound file in Audacity. All free stuff if anyone is interested in doing it themselves. And yes, impressive speed! How controllable is that?

not a clue, I'll measure it when I get home. lol

did you do the other vid?

I tried using the ZS4 software, but once I opened it up, I just sat there staring... I was like, so wher do I go from here? LOL
I'm not in the least familiar with how software like that works.

The speed is very controllable. It has kick at first, but it's usually with a user who hasn't shot the mag before, and doesn't know what to expect. (In terms of recoil/smoothness). If you watch the first video closely that I posted, you can see that my friend delt with a small amount of muzzle lift right at the beginning of the video.

I tried but there was a ton of echo so the wav is hard to read:
88198

Looks like 19 if you count only the highest/widest peaks.

Yep. There is a definite learning curve (which I'm still on). Like allot of Open Source and freeware most of the attention gets paid to the functionality and the UI sucks.

This is the most consistent single second. It's a little all over the place, but that is what always happens with trigger walking. Without software to normalize (in fact enhance) ROF, all trigger walking would look and sound like that. Still that's very impressive for a purely mechanical trigger.

What are you using again? I use Audacity (open source) and find it pretty easy to work with. That's how I determined that my SHP reg set to 1100 psi on my Emag (the day the battery died) was way too fast. Video here, showing a clip of me dumping a Q-pod into a metal bunker to make some noise, at 20.5 bps (@ 1:00 mark): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djHYkl_UUAM&feature=c4-overview&list=UU_MHDDjudVd4sbiE-b8d6hQ#

I was using ZS4 as an audio and video editor for my own stuff. I haven't taken anything to "production" with it yet, still using Windows Movie Maker for that. What I've been doing for peoples vids on youtube is keepvid.com -> AoA Audio Extractor -> Audacity. Audacity has a "higher resolution" for the wave forms so they are easier to read. ZS4 is a nice little program once you get the hang of it though.

I always kinda figured I was in the ballpark there, cool to know! Thanks!
