You are overthinking things.

Do you really think they patented an anodizing pattern on gun parts ?

I would be very surprised if thats true.

And even more surprised if they were patented, if the patent is still in effect.

I imagine that there will be an artist creating the vector "splash patterns" anyways, so I think it'll be fine.
