Hello AO...

Starting a new pb company and the first product I'm bringing to the market are barrels. I will be offering carbon fiber and aluminium barrels. Both will be able to use freak inserts. Sizes I'm considering are 11" - 13" - 15". What barrels sizes do you use the most and why? First to be produced will be autococker threads.

This will sound weird... Stay away from odd numbered lengths. People have seen even numbers so much it's emblazoned in our minds. I prefer a 14-16" barrel. Insert size being whatever the paint is, always a little on the looser side. People love carbon fiber but IMO use a carbon back and aluminum tip. That way people can ano away bunker rub.

Looking to be different...so you would use a 15" barrel?

I have OCD and could not use a 15" barrel. would drive me nuts. not being mean, just honest. alot of people will feel the same.

Yeah, I use 12" and 14" barrels primarily, so I instinctively chose 13" in your poll. But if I saw a 13" barrel I would likely just pass, wondering why it's not just a standard 12" or 14".

If the price is right people will buy them no matter the length.

I prefer short barrels.
So, I'll say 11"

I like to use 14 to 16 inch barrels so a 15 would be cool.:-)

all mine are twist locks so it really doesn't matter at this point, but it depends on the game, short for speedball and long for woods.

Even numbers. 12 would be my choice. So i chose 13 after all i could cut it if i needed to.

Ditto on the 'odd numbers are weird' OCD problem. 12" or 14" for me, doubt I'd buy a 13" barrel, just doesn't sound right :tard:

haha….isn't a 7.5" barrel a odd numbered barrel? is your ODC selective…haha?

that 7.5" is a very popular barrel right?

I have to admit the idea of not using something because it's an odd size increment is a little silly IMO. With that said I have run across several barrels over the years that were 12" or 14" that were actually 13" or 15". It doesn't seem like there is always a consensus as to where to start measuring. Do you include the threads? On a TL, do you include the full barrel or just the section ahead if the breach?

With that said, what is your reasoning for wanting to introduce yet another barrel into the market? There are entire BST threads full of barrels. I have a shelf full that I can barely give away. Unless you are bringing something truly unique to the market, I would look into something else. As it is, there was a Chinese company producing CF barrels recently for around $25 iirc. There was an attempt on MCB to get together a group buy to meet their minimum order. Not sure whatever came of it.
