I've had 'loose' plans for several years about machining some AO key chains.
I don't currently have any exact designs in mind but was thinking it would be machined on both sides maybe Lukes customs on one side and Automag.org on the other or perhaps AO Army and lukes on the other.

I was thinking perhaps doing them in brass(?) What do you guys think?

It's something I could knock out pretty quick if there's enough interest.

you could do your logo on one side, and possibly the Lion logo on the other, or the hexahons, or just AGD or whatever. i'm not great with drawling or photoshop, but the idea is there.

but i do like the idea. there is a lot there to not only offer a kick around product, but get your own business out there. brass would be fine, since you don't have to coat/paint/anno/seal it with anything, letting it just tarnish/age by itself.

I'm thinking it would be rectangle, say 5/8 x 2.5 so the lion logo wouldn't work. ;)
Yea, I was thinking that Luke's customs would for sure be on one side and the other would be an optional design of some sort.

how big, I would be down if its not to big or bulky. brass would look cool, I like the lion on one side and luke with hexagons on the other.

hahaha put that as I was posting. so what about doing luke with hex on one side and a classic mag on the other?

I'd prefer the lion logo too.... but as it doesn"t fit  my choice would go to the Automag.org with the hexagons just before, as you did on the rails sides.

Are you sure lions won't fit ?????????? sarcasmsarcasmsarcasm

To do a lion they would have to be round and probably about 1-5/8" in diameter. I'm a typical guy and tend to always have a pocket full of stuff (two actually) it seems that something that big would take up too much real estate(?)

you're right the round would be too large !

mav, that is much to large to machine on a key chain.

Awesome idea...Ive wanted to do this myself for a long time. I would make them out of 6061 instead of brass. You wouldnt need to anodize it because of the high corrosion resistance the material has....plus you could get it custom anodized with a gun! brass would look nice too...but would turn nasty fast. To each their own. I might buy one from you.

I'm not totally sold on brass, I was just throwing it out there, custom anno ones would be pretty cool too.

like this idea. Can you do rectangular with bottle opener at one end.

How about G10 or Kydex ?

I dont think anodizing will stay on very well if it actually lives in a pocket most of the time banging against keys.
