Hey everyone, hoping someone can help me out, I picked up a chrome minimag in a deal, it has a purple splash rail, duckbill, plug, and a barrel sleeve that says Fred Schultz on it. I am trying to figure out if these kits use to be sold like this? And how much this gun might be worth?88888

Added a better pic, thanks for the price but I know the standard minimags are going for, I'm guess I'm mainly just looking for the history of the anno body kit and if it adds value

it does but I'm not sure how much. That kit is about as rare as you get. Yours is the first I've seen in a LONG time.

There are few people on here that know lots about splash kits. I am not one but I have never seen one of those before. Does the barrel sleeve come off?
I would say it is probably worth $250 or more.

The sleeve does come off and also the rail is pump milled

The rail on this gun is also factory milled for a pump kit as an added bonus, and the barrel sleeve does slide off.

In case it seems wierd that I know this, I also have an interest in this gun as I went in half-sies when this was bought, so I am just as interested in finding out the info on this one. It look ten times more amazing in person, the anno just doesn't show up well in pics.

Edited: he beat me to that info

Tom wrote a great post about Fred Schultz here.... http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?68036-Who-Was-Fred-Schultz-Remembering-Great-Players-from-the-Past

The post shows that Tom really appreciated what Fred Schultz did for the sport of paintball. Sure, it is pretty much a standard minimag with anodizing and laser engraving, but when you hear the story of who Fred Schultz was as a person, the value increases. It might not be a million dollar paintball gun, but I think you should be able to get good money from a collector.

dont worry, I will be squeezing Fred for information when I talk to him.

Yah that was the first thing I read after I got this gun, and just the other day I watched the Disney game which has Fred using a minimag that looks very similar, I got into paintball to late to really know the name but have heard it a few times and it is very cool to own something that seems so rare and part of paintball history.

It's too pretty to use! Haha. I actually bought another chrome Minimag just to able to use one so I wouldn't chance killing this one.

like cars, paintball guns are for using, not putting in a display case.

Cool gun. Anything is what the owner what's to make of it. Collectors shelf item. Of a first choice field gun. Me myself. If I'm not gonna use it. I'm selling it most likely. Not much on trophies.

Andrum85

Yah I am the same , so I don't really know what to do with this piece

BTAutoMag
01-18-2014, 03:18 PM
If anything I would buy the pieces and NEVER make a working gun with them

Andrum85
01-18-2014, 03:22 PM
Well my plan is to bring it to ll7 so everyone can see it and then me and my buddy will decide what to do with it, my problem is I have no idea what to value it at

BTAutoMag
01-18-2014, 05:49 PM
Yea. Value wil be hard

Wow,... thats a pretty gun!

Id rock that thing any day,... sadly,.. i would feel bad doing it because of the value it has.

If it was me,.. id keep it.

Since you are not me,... what do you want for it? :-) (seriously)

Andrum85
01-18-2014, 07:33 PM
Seriously I literally have no idea what to value it at, it is worth what someone is willing to pay to have the history

p8ntbal4me
01-18-2014, 07:42 PM
Well you tell me,... its your piece.

I dont want to low ball you :-)

I dont think the grips are worth any more than what you can get them for.

The frame, body, fore grip, barrel (and valve if its marked some way to match the gun) are worth me trying to buy it

I forgot to mention that the guy I got this from said that his friend bought it new at a big tournament in Pennslyvania in the late 90s, I don't know if that might help figuring some stuff out about it

Jergs
01-18-2014, 08:21 PM
I'm not sure it was bought new or not, just bought. but the previous owner said it was bought at a huge game in PA way back in the day. I think the plan for now is to hold onto this until after LL7, and maybe indefinitely. Plans do have a tendency to change though.
