what is the best/easiest way to unscrew one from the bottle without using a pipe wrench on it? is there a trick to it or should i take it to a field and let them do it?

Get a leather strap wrench works great and you don't damage your reg, try Lowes,OSH,Home depot. (Obviously) let all the air out and remove fill nipple and burst discs, dip the reg in boiling water to loosen the factory loctite and begin removing. hope I helped a little good luck.

you can put a bolt that's threaded for the nipple or gauge port, and use that as leverage to help unscrew it, plus it lets the tank depressurize.

strap wrenches work, as well as a having something that secures the tank, so that you have something to turn against while unscrewing the reg.

there should NOT be any loctite at all on the reg. the reg should be able to be screwed in and at most a sealing oring on the reg threads. you don't want to put anything on the threads, as that could end up in the over pressurization port and then you could end up with a rocket.

Generally I use a 24" cressent wrench and a big strap wrench. Strap wrench on bottle close to the taper for the neck. Wrap a wrag around the reg. Tighten the cressent till it just fits around the reg body and use the nipple or burst disk plug as a bump stop. Never had an issue but most people don't have a giant cressent laying around.

Ninja will loctite regs on after they hydro test a bottle.
