View Full Version : How Many Untouched ZGrips Left?

One of the paintball facebook groups I monitor had a thread going about agd zgrips the other day. It seems like most of the ones I see in pic threads have been pneumag'ed, electropneumag'ed, some other kind of chopped up or UL milled. Dumb question: is anyone running these stock? I bought one when they were new, hated the ergonomics and threw it in my parts bin. Just looked this morning, it's still in really good shape. I doubt I'll ever play it or mod it but I'm hesitant to sell or trade it (it would only go to an AO member) because I suspect there are so few left that haven't been messed with in some way. I'm tempted to make a display case for it and mount it on my wall as a reminder of an age gone by when Tom and the team at AGD were innovating and blowing our minds with what they achieved.

All that being said, I'm absolutely going to butcher an Angel frame for a sleeper pneumag. There's about 8 billion angel frames floating around.

Really zero way of telling, but I would say a lot of them are unmolested actually. I've only seen a handful that were pneued and one that was electro pneued. Some were UL milled, but I don't see that as a value loss unless done poorly. Not sure how that relates to "most".

I think I read somewhere that AGD only made something like 400 of them. Seems like every time I see one it's been chopped somehow. Maybe I'm just seeing the same handful over and over...

I would agree that most are probably still stock. Probably a larger number "sitting in parts bins" than modded. I have a mag with a zgrip on the way if I like it i want to do a EZ-GRIP

I have 2. One is on a mostly working RT and the other is covered in dust in a parts box attached to frankenmag

I've modified very few over the years, probably 25 or less.

I got one. It's currently on a Classic RT. Have had it for a few years, but have never been able to get it running. Massive leak down the barrel as soon as I apply air. I'll get it running...someday. Til then, woodlx got me thinking, and I might see if I can slap that z-grip onto an Angel without having to mod the grip...hmmm...

Mine isn't milled, but I drilled and tapped it for Luke's panels. They look a lot better than standard 45* grips on it.

Mine is milled by Luke. Loguzzzz did the electro conversion for me and I believe its the only 9V UTB style Z grip around.
