Airwalk grip panels

Does anyone know if the version 1 & version 2 airwalk grip panels are the same. I know the ergonomics of the grip changed, but didn't know if that meant the grip panel bay changed dimensions?

The airwalk 2 grip panels have notches in them to matce the finger notches of the gripframe
