So paintball starts back next saturday.....

The gang I typically play with is a charity group and all the refs and so forth are volunteers.

They take the summer off since in June, July and August the temperature here gets pretty intense.

So now my sciatic has been acting up for two weeks, got the tens unit hooked up right now.

And to top it off I'm in the middle of moving (probably why the lower back is jacked up).

I was just about to pack all my gear up but now I'm torn, can I make myself do the adult thing and pack it up and ignore the "we're back" email from the gang ?

No paintball for 3 months makes having no paintball willpower tough.

Then theres the back pain.....

What say you AO ?

Be an adult or play ?

You dont quit playing because you get old.........You get OLD because you quit playing.

Man up and go play, else you get old.:stick:

You guys ever read Scott Adams? I think in one of his books, he describes procrastination the act of screwing your future self over, because damnit, if the roles were reversed, that bastard would do the same thing to you.

I think the maturation process in humans involves slowly shifting from making decisions that screw your future self over, to making decisions that benefit your future self.

Of course some people never make that transition :)

You can always make excuses for whatever way you decide. You need to make a desicion that satisfies your real want and need. As long as you can justify it to your self and your family so that you feel good about your decision, all is good. Go forth and play paintball my friend.

I'm not ashamed ; I use my age as a crutch & advantage ; they never expect the oldest guy around to be sprintin around the field , I pay afterwards but I still enjoy the hell out of it

Liquid sunshine......

But I don't care to work in it or play in it.

Summertime colds are hard to shake for some reason.

Summertime colds are hard to shake for some reason.Even warm rain soaks you to the bone and chills your body. I don't like playing in it either. I like to be comfy when I play. Paintball is as much about the social aspect as it is about the game, but its hard being social when you're uncomfortable.

Winter viruses are usually rhino, corona, and parainfluenza viruses which cause upper respiratory infections. Summer viruses are quite often the same winter viruses with the addition of the enterovirus which causes additional masty symptoms throughout the body, and the symptoms usually last longer. The enterovirus likes to take advantage of a worn down body. This can happen when you over exert yourself after being seditary all winter (or any other time frame).

bottom line is if your not having fun its not worth doing regardless of the reason.
