Can someone id this Classic Sear?

As stated above. Have this in a Classic Mag which works fine. Seems a bit strange to me.
Any knowm downturns to using it?
The one on the left is a new one as reference.

Id like to find out why it looks the way it does and if it has any influence on a Mag's operation...

Looks like maybe an end user did the concave spot on the sear to me.

Who knows why, maybe trying to shave some weight off ?

Does the mag have an after market bolt?

If so does the lip intended to catch the sear look any different than a normal one?

Ive seen that done before. Not sure its impact on operation of the gun. I've also seen it in old advertisements as a aftermarket mod. Swear it was eclipse but can't find the ad.

it was running a normal lvl7 bolt, currently a lvl10, so nothing special on that end either. That concave area does look kinda homemade (maybe dremeled down?) to me..
Oh well, as long as it runs without any hiccups... :)

As long as you have a full pull and release, the concaved sear will work like any other sear. If you release too soon, the on-off could open before the bolt is fully reset. The flat edge of the normal sear prevents it from rotating and opening the on-off until the bolt is fully reset.

I think that was an ill attempted trigger job. I know that if you grind the top of the sear on an angle, you get an quicker release.

I didn't know why they'd do that but it did look like to me it was owner inflicted.

It is an eclipse mod if I remember correctly I have a few of the sears knocking around...

Couldn't really notice any change in terms of performance. Works as a sear should. Kowing its an eclipse one only adds to my intention of keeping it :D

Also (and this may be an optical illusion), the angle of the portion that catches the bolt appears to have been increased, perhaps for the purpose of easier disengagement.

Interesting. Never seen one of those.
