Purely out of curiosity and naivety (and maybe more money than sense), I bought a 2k9 body that Im sure everyone saw on eBay for a stupid amount of money. I would really like to pick around with this think and get it to work. Did anyone have any luck with the 2k9 body? Or were they all bunk? I really would like to find a way to make it work, it would be unique. I figure I may have to fire up the Old Bridgeport at work (after hours of course) to get this thing working.

Please advise. Tell me why I am a fool or whatever. I am having trouble finding info on this thing. If I can't get it to work I will just go another route.

Does it have velocity issues ?

Some of them couldn't get up to 280.

I had one and had no issues with it as a mech but when I sold it, the buyer had the issues with his valve when he tried to make it an Emag....

We are certainly going to find out. I have a guy sending me a complete empty Emag and PTP 2k body. If I have issues I will post them here.

I happen to know that guy very well...:argh:

Your help is appreciated. I went off a little half-cocked on this one and got a little nervous about three hours after I shipped it.

Looks good, I didn't have a chance to put paint through it yet.
Thanks to Tuna for getting it put together for me.

All I am going to say without trashing any company is that I hate these bodies.

I may be reading too much into the smoke and mirrors surrounding this...but I am intrigued. Nobody says anything.
There is no direct mention of the "problem."
There were services to fix the problem at one point but that has stopped. I can't imagine it would be a lot of work after your initial trial and error process. Im thinking maybe this whole thing went like this.

There are problems with *&$ aftermarket part...I can fix for this much $$$.

...Receipt of Cease and Desist (of work to and suggestion of aforementioned issue on public venue) from said pb company.

Possibly a PB company maybe has a class action suit against them and allowing any work being offered to fix said issue is an admission of the problem.

So maybe we stop the work and forget the problem. That way nobody is happy, but there is a smaller bite taken out of their asses when it all settles.

:ninja: damn lawyers...

Wait, you got a cease and desist letter from Pro Team Products ?

That's one I hadn't heard before.

I'd like to hear the whole story....

No I didn't, Chris got only one thing right in his post and that was>> "I may be reading too much into the smoke and mirrors.". :)

No. There is a problem...a very BIG problem. Obviously the body was milled wrong. They sent a steel ring insert that is supposed to be pressed in like all the other crappy bodies they made. The problem is that it doesnt fit. It is too small. I fixed this issue by using a steel ring from an Xmag. It drops right in too, but fits way better than the one they supply. Remember when you take this gun apart that the steel ring will come out with the valve. The ring must be dropped in before the bolt and spring. This should stop any unnecessary wear on the body. Works great. How long it will last is anyones guess. I have another one here that the guy tells me that he has been running L10 on it for years. I cant even get the L10 bolt to drop in the body. Its all mashed up in there. Explain that one to me please. These are some of the reasons that AGD would not work on guns with aftermarket parts. Most of the time they didnt work. I dont blame them either.

This was tongue in cheek...but I like how fast it got out of hand.

Is this like an "Alternate Fact?"

I just emailed Caustic Customs about doing a "Lemon" themed Anodizing scheme for this. Should be fitting.

That bad huh? Some of his stuff is just ridiculous. I can't imagine anything like that being cheap. That deflator mag... omg.

Tuna is the man.

If he has nothing good to say about the product, I personally wouldn't drop a pile of cash into something that I'd never be able to get back in resale.

Just saying.

Sit down before you read the price.

What kind of ballpark are we talking?

Curious what a good custom anno is costing these days.

I'd find it normal to pay ~$500 for a multi splash or multi color anno on full set of parts with some polish, but its been a few years.

A little seed of doubt has found it's was into the back of my mind. I now have this great set of lowers attached to my blind emag/micromag with no level 10. Should I just stick a classic valve and a mech trigger frame on this thing and buy a lvl 10 and ULE body for the rest of the mag? Should I try and keep it together since Tuna spent his time getting it's **** together for me? I am seriously concerned that when I try and play with this thing it is going to blend its way to the sideline. Is this unfounded? Help me... Make my decisions for me...one of us..one of us...

I already have an extra classic valve.

Take the marker to the field and test it instead of worrying about what may or may not happen, the proof is in the pudding. :)
