How much? When will it be available? Where do I buy it?:

We need to make a batch of the body blanks then figure out how they will be sliced up. For this level of detail, the body will probably be around 300 (detents included). We'll get more details available a little later!

How do we make a line to get one:

We aren't going to make too many, but I don't think you'll have a problem getting one. We're trying to gauge demand to see how many bodies need to be cranked out...

More automag parts the better. I'm interested in seeing the complete gun. We always have issues with getting a matching foregrip or battery pack milling though. Hopefully it will look good with all sorts of different options.

they better not use anything but the ring and clip, and mill the sear slot in the bottom farther for ease of install and uninstall the c clip and ring.

The foregrip seems......... Odd?

I believe Andrew mocked up something very quick to get all of his parts field tested. I begged him to come up with some new ideas since we don't really have a large selection of foregrip options to choose from. I know Ydna lurks on the forums. If you guys have any suggestions or ideas he may be listening :p

I am sure that while Nummech won't directly copy the VD foregrip, if you propose a design direction that would compliment the Firemag body and be a stand alone; Ydna would do something more than "the basic foregrip" he whipped up for Living Legends...

TheRealKaz

Did this ever release?

Konigballer
02-27-2019, 11:40 AM
I've never seen one aside from this thread, so maybe not.

As an aside, I wish Nummech would do something relatively simple and just re-create the old Omega rails for standard AM/MM bodies. Those guns are never going away, and the Omega rail is still sought after, almost 20 years later, as probably the best looking standard length mag rail ever made. Why not just make them again?

TheRealKaz
02-27-2019, 11:44 AM
I'm not a fan of the standard length rails... Loving actually being able to use the foregrip with an extended rail.

Konigballer
02-27-2019, 12:27 PM
Well, theoretically, he could just extend the design and make both. My original suggestion would just be a simple upgrade for the THOUSANDS of basic Mags/Minimags floating around that don't use the RTP length rail.

True. Good points.

I'm just hoping this is coming at some point. His Facebook page is all about the cocker gas thru grips ... Hopefully once he's done with that, we can see some firemags being made.

You realize that copying a rail is not as easy as you think. Besides the fact that permission is needed to use the design, that Andy is more in line with creative and original designs of his own, not some copy that is well unremarkable. Plus Numech is about new designs and we all want new designs.

Yeah I watched his video on YouTube. Is the second body functional then????.. It looks so cool....

Ydna
02-28-2019, 10:28 PM
Those bodies are indeed functional, but they use the wrong kind of detents. :nono: I went ahead and updated that quirk, and we also made a TON of actual detents for use with these bodies (among others). The detents are requirement for new bodies anyway so at least that's out of the way.

Here's another picture :shooting:
http://www.zdspb.com/media/agd/nummechbodies1.jpg
Please note (for anyone that didn't realize it already) the Nummech frames seen in all these body pictures were old prototypes that are slightly different than the ones sold currently. The trigger guard and ASA are very different.

ANYWAY yeah as you already mentioned, the only thing holding back these and other bodies is the need for more blanks. And the thing holding that back is this huge batch of cocker frames. The good news is those frames are FINALLY being completed (like 98% done) so we're gearing up for a couple quick restock parts then it's time for bodies for both mag and cocker. I don't know when they'll be done but hopefully before summer. Probably not before LL though.

Also on the plate is those pesky N-Mag pneumag parts that are still in limbo, and also more of our Cocker foregrips which are essentially compatible with RT rail (and unibodies) with just a different screw hole pattern. Those will probably need to be done for the bodies too. So it's gonna be a busy couple months...

Man I'm so ready for these bodies to be completed so I can add nummech mag builds to my collection. Thanks for bringing something fresh.

I was thinking a 2-color rub of an orange base with sky blue (gulf livery colors)... so the edges will rub and be blue and all the insides will be orange. Then a few white accent parts to set it off.

Then for #2 (Yes, I'm down for 2 pyromags, a necromag if ever made public, and multiple pyrocockers in fullblock, midblock, and rudy-dean-block)... silver base with copper rub finish.

Due to the milling, rubs are going to be the best option to really show it off.

Just to give a few ideas, here's a red/orange Axe done by Caustic...
http://www.zdspb.com/media/customwork/numaxe/fireaxe30424946.jpg

Here's a "lava" theme from Aesthetic:
http://www.zdspb.com/media/customwork/numaxe/fireaxe367838949.jpg

I've seen a few other red/orange/yellow patterns but haven't personally seen anything involving an "ice flame" but I think that would be friggen awesome looking. With the detail of the high-end ano shops out there, they can do some crazy stuff while still preserving the milling. Personally I'm planning to do a pyro in white/grey wash one of these days.

Here's that Necroaxe if you wish to see. The design is older and a little less refined, requiring a larger chunk of material. For the Mag body and other future bodies with similar patterns, I wanted to streamline the bones and make the whole thing easier to manufacture. That's how we got to the current design which is on the Mag form.

I actually made some minor adjustments to the design in between the prototype and now. Of interest here, the milled fire spines surrounding the "X" engraving have been adjusted so that more of the engraving is visible. It still overlaps around the bottom edges a little, but I wanted to change it to ensure most of the original AGD markings could be seen, and dare I say accented at the same time :) so all us plebs with normal X-valves won't have to suffer...as much

After next month, I won't be playing paintball till sometime next year. Luke's armada (will be going to anodizer shortly), xmt body run, now this...... I just became penniless. What ever extra funds I had just went to mag builds. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji1787][emoji23][emoji23][emoji1787][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

As a side note, when does this go on sale again? Also, will this be a limited run? This looks so nice, thanks for the pics.

So, no rail. Proprietary grip. Got any pics of the grip for it?

Wait, you have to use a proprietary front foregrip with this unibody ?

That would be disappointing.

I like that emag users will have a cool little window to look through

Foregrips are a tricky thing since there isn't a standardized mounting method. I was able to include two options...there's a 1/4"-20 threaded hole coming up from the underside that could be used for a VASA, and there's also a pair of #10 clearance screw holes going down from the top, which uses the same dimensions as the RT Pro brackets (0.650" between holes).
I'm going to make some dummy foregrips in a similar vein as the ones from my N-autococker frames except made for the RT Pro pattern, so they could be used for these bodies or other similar ones. Those will come later though.

Most of our bodies are available as black gloss by default, but raw will also be available for the custom builders.

I still need to make the little steel rings that go inside, so that's the ultimate bottleneck for getting these totally ready to ship out. I'm going to start those next week hopefully. The bodies will come with the steel ring along with a pair of detents (our new rebuildables). You'll need an Empire-spec feedneck for it, and of course we have that too, but I don't want to limit people to that one in particular in case you prefer a different one.

ring with C-clip(AGD way),
or
a steel cup with a threaded hole in the bottom of the body for a setscrew to hold the steel cup from falling out?(XMT way)

I was super excited for this, since it's gorgeous.

Then I saw your post on FB about the other 2 designs...

Yeah I have too many to make...probably gonna run out of blanks ahead of schedule. I also wanted to make the blanks available for other people...I'll almost definitely need to make more.

It's more similar to the XMT bodies by that description. There's a little set screw on the bottom of the body that keeps the new ring from coming loose.

I made different versions (cocker, angel, SP, etc) but the trouble is I ran into an issue with the SP-threaded versions and they need to be re-cut. The AGD ones are ready to go right now, black or silver. You could pick some up with a direct if you'd like, send an email to sales@nummech.com :)

Hey, somewhat unrelated note....

could someone bug Andy for me? He has a few of my parts and communication has gone downhill over the past few months. I sent him emails every few weeks with no response and tried to message on Facebook. I’m wondering if someone could try and track him down for me.

Any movement on this would be appreciated!! (If I can track him down I’ll delete this post.)

Sorry to hijack, hijack, but I've been having a hard time getting an email reply from Andy as well from Nummech. He said I could get a flush trigger guard and told me how much. I said that would be great, what do I need to do? Nothing since then. I hope everything is alright.
