What's the top width of an automag frame? We have a mill at work, and some scrap aluminum, and was contemplating playing around with machining a trigger frame.

Get a set of calipers and take your frame and measure it up. You will need to get some measurements like the rear frame hole, sear placement and the front screw exact. After that, you can do whatever you like.

Start with a 3/4" piece of stock, face both sides at -0.015" and you're off to the races.

Start with a 3/4" piece of stock, face both sides at -0.015" and you're off to the races.Thank you! My mag currently doesn't have a frame, so I have nothing to take measurements of. I think I can eyeball the sear slot. I just wanted to make sure I had the right width for it.
