luke

That hole is a view window just so you can see the T-Rex ram working. I only did that on the prototype MV Frame.

I'm curious about the grip frame covers. Are the aluminum grips the only ones that fit the frame or is there an aftermarket source? How 'grippy' are they after they get moist/dirty?

All of my grip frames use proprietary aluminum grips that I manufacturer.

Nice barrel tip, interestingly odd drop on off asa can you please make a video of it on a marker getting aired up.

This is no different than a Sidekick with a CP asa, really nothing to see. Plus I can no longer host video on my website.

luke

One thing I forgot to mention is that the New Sidekick ASA is the exact configuration as the original design. It may not feel exactly the same when you shoulder the your marker because of the ASA you were using. If you use a standard 68 ci tank with the new SK it will match the intended fit and feel. The first design was based on using a Geddon regulator to locate the tank position and find the two angles for the correct marker position when shouldered. I doubt any of the ASA's that were used on the original SK really gave you the fit I intended, the new design will get you there.

The stella is a 2 piece barrel, not a 3 piece. Some the fronts have the threaded section for a tip, but in my opinion, the threaded tips had not been as popular. I do not know if they are being discontinued, but the greater majority of barrel tips are not tip threaded. A different front section could be nice, but how profitable would a dozen be for you?

luke
07-16-2020, 01:23 PM
Yes, according to what Simon told me, "We have both options. We do a front that you can thread a muzzle break onto and we do fronts that are just smooth (Slimline) and we do carbon fronts that thread onto the backs via an aluminum part"

Body/Rail combo

Like the Deflator Rail/body? Or more like the standard rails?

luke
07-19-2020, 05:21 PM
No, the Deflator is not really a standard body/rail combination or even a Unibody. It's kind of a Uni-body with a hidden rail that's not really a rail, I guess it's an undefined class. LOL
This next one is a standard body and RTP rail design.

No, not really a spacer either, it's a carrier that sits in a recess, flush to the bottom of the body. It holds the sear and detent and is all but completely hidden when assembled. ;)

I'm anxious to get my hands on that sidekick asa. I assume any future rail/body releases will be comparable in price to the most recent ones? I'll certainly need a body, especially since ULE bodies are still somewhat elusive.

luke
07-20-2020, 02:04 PM
It's way to soon for me to think about pricing, not even sure what new custom bodies sell for today. That said I won't know until production is done, that's where the final cost numbers come from. It's just not something I have to look at in detail beforehand since everything is done in house. ;)

Honestly if someone produces a mag-fed automag unibody, that would be #1 buy priority. Can basically name your price.

luke
07-21-2020, 10:03 AM
I'm heavily invested in the next 10 parts slated for production, I cant even begin to think past that. I'm sure I can engineer a mag feed Automag, it just boils down to time, which I dont have for the foreseeable future. Those 10 parts dont include other unrelated personal projects sitting part done collecting dust. lol.

So you're saying if we all buy enough of these new parts you're producing that you'll definitely, absolutely and certainly make a mag-fed mag body? ;)

I think it would be necessary to do a grip frame too due to space issues with the magazine.

How many different magazines are available, how many balls do they hold?

My mill broke down the day I was going to cut the prototype frames, took several weeks to figure out the problem, then more time to order parts, and several days to complete the repair, then family stuff came up in the middle of all that, then I got caught up in several personal projects that I needed to do because of the communist shut down over the c-19 scam. I think I'm about 7-10 days out of starting the frames again. Right now the personal projects are taking precedence over all else, but that was forced on me by our communist town mayor that went against council vote and shut our little town down. We don't nor did we ever have a virus problem, but here we are, anyway.
