When I started paintbal there was alot of companys, but as I got more into it I realized that there are becoming fewer and fewer companys. About once a month or so I hear " So and So bought out So and So" What's up with this before we know it there won't be a Paintbal Inustrie there will be a Paintball Company.

I think you are greatly over-exagerating the situation here. It is common American capitalism that if one company has a good enough product they will inevitably end up being bought. For the most part this is true.

But as long as there is a free market out there will always be the ability for someone with and idea and enough VC to get their company started.

I agree with Hasty8.

To put things in a much clearer perspective, take any major industry and you will see the same things. Many companies reduced down to a hand full of major players. And then things stabilize. This can even be a good thing, and usually is. And paintball is a relatively new industry.

Sure, there are examples where it didn’t end up being the best thing… but overall it is simply survival of the fittest or smartest.

And when you think about it, it is often much easier forming standards with fewer companies involved. This can be a good thing as well. Can you imagine if paintball was a global industry to the level of Automobile Manufacturing? Now THAT would cause some major upsets. I will not even get into what kind of problems it would cause for the existing manufacturers, or the fact that some of them would probably end up closing shop…. Seen it happen with too many other industries for it to NOT happen with this one.

More is not always better…

I have a song playing in my head….
“Don’t rock the boat…. Rock the boat baby…”

You mean this one by "the Hues Corporation"

"Said I'd like to know where, you got the notion To rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby Rock the boat, don't tip the boat over Rock the boat, don't..." (and on and on?)

Rock The Boat
( The Hues Corporation )

So I'd like to know where, you got the notion
Said I'd like to know where, you got the notion
To rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby
Rock the boat, don't tip the boat over
Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby
Rock the boat

Ever since our voyage of love began
Your touch has thrilled me like the rush of the wind
And your arms have held me safe from a rolling sea
There's always been a quiet place to harbor you and me

Our love is like a ship on the ocean
We've been sailing with a cargo full of love and devotion

So I'd like to know where, you got the notion
Said I'd like to know where, you got the notion
To rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby
Rock the boat, don't tip the boat over
Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby
Rock the boat

Up to now we sailed through every storm
And I've always had your tender lips to keep me warm
Oh I need to have the strength that flows from you
Don't let me drift away my dear, when love can see me through

Our love is like a ship on the ocean
We've been sailing with a cargo full of love and devotion

So I'd like to know where, you got the notion
Said I'd like to know where, you got the notion
To rock the boat
Rock the boat
Rock the boat
Rock the boat
Rock the boat
Rock the boat
Rock the boat
Rock the boat

Yes I know the one by FB you are refering too. Also Bob Marley had one by the same title. Rock the Boat. Found both of those searching for all the lyrics of the Hues Corporation one.

Since I've got into paintball, Ive seen the exact opposite. There are far more companies out there....

If your talking about companies buying others, and suing others as well, quite a bit of PB companies have done it aside from BE.
