All,
After 12 days on the road I am finally back and exhausted. Overall I am very happy to report that the Blue C&C Extreme was a SMASH HIT with everyone that saw it! The funniest point came when a tourney player in LA walked up to the booth, took a look at the gun and said "That's too small" and walked away. Everyone behind the booth cracked up.
The tourney was typical NPPL with lots of dust in the tent and they ran late on the 5 man and canceled the finals. As expected it was big cocker country and Bud introduced their new Cocker the Orracle to rave reviews. We got a very good reaction from the locals and the rec players touring the tent. Didn't see to many of the pro guys the tent was so dusty people stayed out if they could. The vendor show looked like a semi parking lot with everyone showing up with new trucks. Bud had his new one and Smart Parts had two. National Paintball had one with a banner that said "King of Paintball" so it must be true.
The best part of the show was having AO show up for the dounut orgy. EVERYONE brought a box or two and we were just loaded. We sat around for hours and talked about everything under the sun. We had some special people stop by like Chris from HALO, Josh from 2Xtremes magazine and John Rice the designer of the Angel. Everyone was terrific and I think some industry people were impressed that we had such a following.
Got to hang with Bud for a couple days at his house after the tourney and we mostly talked about old times. His son Jeff is running the business now and he does the big picture stuff and gets to play with his Harleys every night.
After LA I flew to Sacremento in northern CA to hang with everyone from Predator Paintball. We spent two days at the retail stores showing off the new stuff and then played paintball on Sunday. We had visits from Hitech, Arthur Dent, Shocker and Shinney Guy and his girlfriend. They had matching his and hers Micro Mags in contrasting black and chrome. Very cool!! Someone took pics but they haven't posted them yet. Blackvcg and his friend Scott came down too and helped out.
Bob who works at Predator is one of only 8 master Angel techs in the country and I got to play with his IR3 on Sunday. Worked flawlessly but the hopper couldn't keep up and the COPS would make it skip shots occasionally. It never dry fired or chopped. I thought the lower trigger guard would get in the way but it didn't. The grip was different but not a Z-Grip. It was just different, but not hard to get used to.
They raffled off an Emag and a pile of accesories on Sunday at the field. Most people hadn't seen a warp up there and hardly knew what to make of them. I had to rev up "Bad Blue" the Extreme with all the chicks and show 'em how it works. Needless to say they were pretty shocked on the rec field. Our team won every game and they asked me to come play on the other side for the last game. Hitech had his warp too and spent most of the day explaining it to people.
Hung out with Oh, Scotty and Bobby (thanks again for dinner) and had a great time. As in LA everyone really like the new body styles and I got hit hard for sponsorships and delivery dates.
Well CA as ususal you are all a bunch of fun and have the best weather. Thanks to everyone that showed up and I hope to see you on the field soon!
