I know that the charger runs from 10 to 15 volts, but what is the pos/neg like? is in inner barrel neg outer barrel pos or vice versa?

and no.. I do not have a multimeter handy to figure it out/

I know you can, you can buy the adapter at radio shack I think. Try doing a search for it. Or maybe my reply will bump this up to the top of the page and someone will know what it is.

There are other cheaper lower end one's too but you'll still have to get the matching adapter end to fit the car battery charger mounting post. Bring it along with you when you go to Radio Shack. They sell these separately and usually have the exact match for the charger.

Good luck.

You can also try CAT. NO. 22 - 501

This will allow you to plug the cigarrette lighter adapter for the car into the slot in this device which will then plug into the wall. [/QUOTE]

thanks for all the searching Cliffio, what I am really after though is which parts are positive and which are negative when I hook up my universal adapter

I bought this adapter and tip for my SFL E-Mag. If you plug the tip in incorrectly, the charger light won't come on. All you have to do is swap the tip around. Trial and error works every time.
