I have a 1 piece barrel and it was all solid. I put holes in it and it worked! does it matter what way the holes are alined for accuarcy or is it just speculation. I shot it a few times it seems to work just as well as a Smart Part. Let me know what you guys think.

As long as you didn't create snags... you can do whatever you want.
Don't overdue the porting. The more porting you have, the less gas efficiant the barrel will be. Meaning to get a shot at 300 fps with porting will take more air then to get a shot at 300 fps without porting. You generally only want about 1in or porting on the end of the barrel to keep it from sounding like a shotgun. More will make it quieter, but not more accurate as is often claimed.

NOOO. DON'T PUT PORTING IN IT! What sounds cooler? A regular barrel, that sounds like a whole bunch of barrels, or a ONE OF A KIND, SOUND AMPLIFYING CANNON BARREL? :D Look at the newbies run(including me:D ).

it doesnt matter where you put the holes just dont make it look crappy
It does matter where the holes are... More towrds the end is less air lost, that is why they are always at the end.
