Well here it is. Pick the one you would want to do this at. Remember, it will be a fun meet, greet, and play day so the place should have refreshments or be close to resturants we could hang at after the games. Well....vote!

Had to vote for Battle Creek since it is my home field but I am there as long as I can get off where ever decide to do it. Let me throw out my dates. I can do it on the 27 or 28 of April or any weekend in May as long as we have it figured out by the 10th of April so I can get the request in.

www.battlecreekpaintball.com. It is going through some real changes and I'm not sure what all is up or not. Like I said in the other post. Battle Creek is located off 1-70 at the Hatton Exit near Kingdom City. It has three Wooded fields, One of which is clear of alot of under brush. It has alot of bunkers and cover, along with a creek splitting the field in half. The second field has a large hill splitting it in half long ways, with a creek at the bottom of the hill. The Third Wooded field is under construction but is still a good field with sloping sides that meet at a creek.

The Speedball field is set up for 3 to 5 man teams and is a good, mostly flat field. They are working on a new speedball field to hold 5, 7, and maybe even 10 man teams. They are also working on a urban field with old house trailers that you can climb in and through as well as play outside them. The urban field is not ready yet but it will be up and running soon.

We have pizza and other food avalable on sight and being near Kingdom City you can get McDonalds and other fast food.

Just thought I would help any of you out that don't know much about the field.

Hey, I know you guys have a lot of players in St. Louis but how come you didn't give Jaegers paintball in Kansas City some consideration. They claim to be the World's only subsurface paintball feild (you play in a cave....a really big one), and although when you go in there it smell like dirty sweatsocks, you get used to it. If any of you have never tried it, it is quite the experience (not smelling dirty sweatsocks but playing underground).

Normally my team would refuse to the death to support Wacky, but for this one event I could probably get them to think otherwise.

Also we will be out at Wildcat this Sunday ... anyone who is interested in joining a rookie team is welcome to come out. We are always looking for new players, and at the moment the only real thing we ask is that you want to play and can make it out twice a month ...

Which Wacky Warriors ?? They have two locations. We can play either Wentzeville or Millstadt. Both are rather nice locations. I am trying to get Chris to put in some new Speedball Fields at the Millstadt location. Like 6 of them to be more precise. So he can bvring in some of the bigger tournaments. Any way which field since Wacky seems to be winning ??

I play there most of the time. I havent played the Mo. Field yet. But hear it is rather nice. Played at extreme and didnt like it much. They have a couple of nice fields. But they just dont seem to care much. the employees that is. Wacky Warriors Millstadt field gets a thumbs up from me.

Well, as for dates, May is really full for me. Mid June is the nearest I can do to being able to make it.

It sucks but my supervisors are really screwing me out of days because they are trying to force me to quit. Hopefully by the time this all comes around I will have a new job.

We all just plan now for the second weekend in June. Can work out weather it is on saturday or sunday later. just pick the weekend and go from there. I also think it would probably be easier to meet at the Wentzeville field. I play the Millstadt field mostly. But wentzeville would be better for the MO. players.

my first time i played was at wackys, i played at gateway for a bit but most of them just hang out with there friends and it takes the whole time inbetween games to get ur tank filled and then u gotta run mad and fill up hoppers and tubes, and everytime i leave wackys, i leave with a smile, and im usually the guy with his head down and pissed off and annoyed with ppl, cept for the last time there were two 12 year olds with 1400$ markers and everyone acted like the team who had them would win even though we lost.

what exactly is the ao though? sorry for asking a dumb question but im new here.

and if i were to not have my rt by that time would i still by able to come? and the rest of my team as well?

anyone ever been to the place near osage beach at the lake of the ozarks? i've been wanting to play there but cant find any info. there is also an area 51 paintball in kamnington i think its a few min past the capitol

you dont have to have a mag, its just an AO meet, where people from AO meet up and play paintball and socialize
its alot of fun and you get to put the names with the faces

anyways, i will be there if its held in the STL area

I try to set up a meet. We can try to set it up so we can have a BBQ or if nothing else get together and BYOB and Food. The Wacky Warriors Millstadt Field I can set it up so we can go as a group and get the BBQ Grill set aside so noone else uses it that day. Just us. I can more then likely do the same thing for Wentzeville. Same people own them both so I see no problem with that.

So Mid June is a rough date. BBQ and Beer (for those that are old enough that is). Let me know. I have to run a Corprate Group tomorrow and will be working with Chris (The Owner). I can start setting it up tomorrow morning.

LMK how many people may be showing up. Remember that We are trying to set this up with enough warning that the peoiple that are supposed to show will be there. No last minute backouts. Long term planning.

Just post here and I will work off of this.

I have never been there but I have heard that Area 54 in Eldon is not a good location. Mind you this is just hearsay but from what I have gathered there are alot of slack safety rules there.

As for the one near Osage Beach, I believe it is called Dragon Paintball, Havn't heard much about it.

Cliffio, I don't know if anyone actually said you can come but as far as I am concerned anyone from anywhere in the world that wants to make it is more then welcome to come. The more the better.

Ice, as long as I have enough notice I should be able to get off that day. I don't mean to pressure but It would be nice to have a exact date. The sooner I get the time requested the harder it is for them to say no. You never know, I may just have to call in sick. Maybe a case of the blue balls, or yellow, or pink, or what ever color paint we are useing that day. :D

Xtreme is not the closest field to me... Gateway is.

Xtreme is the nicest field from a playing and picnicing standpoint.

There are VERY well kept and diverse fields.

A grass covered picnic area with tables, free standing awnings over every table, grills, vending machines, and plenty of parking.

There is a reason that the major tournaments of the St Louis area are held there. It is simply the best facility around.

Xtreme would offer the AO group the best environment for a fun and safe paintball party!

I have never played at Xtreme but have drove past it several hundred times :).... They got some niiiiiiiice fields setup, and the one out front near the high way looks especially enticing. I will be heading up there this summer and would definately come to a meet. My Aunt live up the road and we could hit her up for food if we run out. A big BBQ would be great.. great time to sit around and talk about stuff. Say walk on's all day with hotdogs and burgers on the grill for in between games. We would have to save the beer for after we're all done playing.. we can't have any rule breaking now... its AO remeber. We are the best-of-the-best... right?!

I just spent the last 10 hours at the Millstadt field running two groups. One from Casino Queen and one from Scoot Air Force Base. My AZZ is dragging. Anyway. I talked with Chris, I worked with him all day. If we do either of the Wacky fields I can get a private ref and we can game by ourselves if we want. We can either do it as open play or with our own ref. I can also set it up so that we dont have to leave right away if we dont want to. I can lock up after it is over. So we can stay and do a little partying if we want. Extreme I can do nothing with, well not much anyway. If we play at Extreme I can set it up with the Columbus Club here in town and get them do some cooking for us. We can go there and get beer, soda or what ever and shoot some pool afterwards as well. Its good to be a member. Just make up our minds and I will try to get things rolling. I can still probably get a little leverage with Extreme since they are owned by the Brother of the guy that owns Wacky. Well kinda anyway. Long story.

Just tell me which field and I will set up a date. Plus get everything else together. I want to play either one of Wacky's fields. But It is up to the whole not just one member.

Whoa! I don't check the forum for a day and POW! Ice-Child, seems like he really wants to take the helm on this. That is cool with me as it seems he has the best connections. I decided Wackys by the vote after having the post up for a while. I personally don't care where we do it either. i think since Ice-Child seems to be the "go to" guy here, i'm just gonna let him run with the ball.:) The big D-day game is June 6-9 in OK. I will be attending that. Late June on a Sunday would be good for me. That would allow my wallet to recover and others to save $$ if they need to. It would also allow us to make the long term coordinations to make this a good event. (lots of pictures to post here?)Maybe even get a guest to come play? (Mods, or even...hold your breath...Tom?) I'm really glad to see I started something here.
So...that being said... Go Ice-Child....go Ice-Child...it's your birthday....it's your birthday....:D :D

How is the last weekend in June ?? Say the 29th or 30th of June ?? Get a date nailed down and location and we are half way there. At the moment it is a tie between Wacky and Extreme. I dont really care since it is going to be a "Meet and Greet". Just get the date and location and I will work my butt off to get it together. I also agree that maybe we try to get some of the Mods or the infamous Tom to show. It may sound crazy but we did something close to this about 3 years ago for the Tippmann forums and got Ben to show up. Well see though. Somebody PM Tom (The Man) and send him this link and tell him to read it. I have already talked with Chris Robinson and he says it is fine even if we want to Camp at the field. At WAcky that is. So its up to you all as to where. But try to get it nailed down soon. So that we arent making last minute jumps through hoops or anything.

Alright...now we are cooking with grease. I would like the 30th myself. I get paid the next day and I should have recovered from D-day. Once again, I don't care what field, but it looks to me like Wacky's is willing to help. An offer of camp is quite nice :D Let's just say screw it, and play and Wacky's. If we dance around our "fave field" too much, we will never settle on one. It's paintball and meet and greet, so who really cares where!
By the way...anyone who is going to D-day, I'm planning on making a banner of some type (o.k...a painted sheet.) to hang near my tent/truck for AO 'rs to meet at. Maybe I can see how many signatures I can collect from members who attend!

Basically...lets just do Wacky's on the 30th.

I will talk with Chris about Wentzville then I take it. I will see what all we can do about camping and if we get enough people get him to furnish a ref for day play. Night play can be done on either hyperball or speedball fields.

Just as long as everyone agrees. Maybe we can go back and forth. On at Wacky and the next Meet and Greet will be at Extreme. Then the next one at a different field.

Up untill this weekend, wacky's was winning the poll, then tied with extreme. Now the poll shows extreme winning. I started the poll on March 28th. When I posted the final location, wackys was tied with extreme, but the people at wackys had shown the most interest in catering to us. BBQ pit, private ref, camping possibilities. No other fields have made offers. It just seemed the logical choise to make. In the end, does it really matter? The idea is to just get together. Let's do it at a place that will treat us right. I'm not saying the other places won't, it's just that we don't know. We can go around and around with fields and never end up having the meet. The poll was to give us a starting place. I think it did.
In the end, I stand by my previous statement..."The idea is to just get together."
:D
BTW I have never played at Wackys

to whoever needs directions, you can get them off the website, www.wackywarriors.com but it's realy simple, get on 40, and take that to pearce i believe it is(i usually use the wal-mart as my landmark, but you get on that over pass heading in the direction of wal-mart and the super8(or the big ol'hotel right there that i think is super8 but i may be wrong), than make a right at the signals, get on that service road, and fallow that down for a few minutes, it's across a set of railroad tracks on a gravel road, there is a semi-large white sign with wacky warriors printed in red with some paintball splat stickers on stickers on it and you can see the second netted safety area and the speed ball feild behinde that. look on the wacky site for some better directions, mine proly arn't as presise as they could be.

if anyone would like i will most probally grab my lil radio and a good sized collection of cds, but you may wanna bring out a few of ur own discs if you'd like, being as i know not alot of ppl are as into underground metal type stuff like converge and cradle of filth, nor is tori amos and bjork vary popular that i know of. if any of you guys have music sugguestions, i could almost deffinatly get my friend to rent out some cd's from his work to burn me.

Cliffio, just to answer your question about other fields being represented, I kinda speek for Battle Creek. As for my field, I have talked with the owner and if you all want to do several of these gatherings across the state Battle Creek will be more then happy to host us. They have camping sights as well as a full service store and pro shop.

They have some BBQ pits and if needs be I have a traler mounted smoker/cooker made out of a 500 gallon fuel drum that can cook a ton of burgers and stuff.

Just a thought for the future:D

This isnt a one time deal. At least I hope not anyway. We just need to pick the first place and run with it. After that we go to the next field and the next. Like maybe one a month through the summer. That way for the people that cant make one can hopefully make the next. I wasnt trying to drive everyone to Wackys. I was just looking at a starting point. If we want to start somewhere else. Then we need to get a spokes person from Extreme in here because they are currently winning the pole. I will still try to set as much of it up as I can.

Ice-Child
04-23-2002, 06:25 PM
I am going to go up tomorrow and try to talk with the owners of Extreme and see what all they will let us do. As in camping and maybe set us up with a ref and so forth. If we get enough people we can just go as a group and get a discount, that I know they will do. Anyway just pick the place and I will get on the ball to get it all set up. The people that own Extreme are brothers with the people fr4om Wacky. So maybe they may cut us some slack.

I will see what I can do tomorrow.

Kinda part time I guess you would say. More like when they need the help I am there. The deal with Dunns Sporting Goods, they wanted to open their own Paintball Store. Well Chris worked some kind of deal with them. they run the store inside their store. But it is still part of Wacky and Paintball Outfitters.

Vegeta- I put the poll up on March 28th. The poll will fluctuate th elonger it is up. At the time I decided it had been up long enough, Wacky's was ahead. I really hope your decision to not go to this one is not solely based on the field. We are planning on doing it at different fields each month. Xtreme is next!

I think extreme will let you camp there if they know some of us. Sanj knows me because we played in the Friday night league last summer. I get e-mail from his field all the damn time. Didnt they just put in the inflatable field???

Yes they have a inflatable field in the front. It doesnt look that bad. But from what I hear it is the best field they have to offer. Chris from Wacky is putting in three more fields at their Millstadt field. I was floored to hear him say it. We have only been on him for like two years to do it. I will keep a post or start a forums post to keep any one interested updated. I will talk with them and see what we can do. Ice-Child is supposed to get ahold of them (extreme), and see what we can and cant do there. So by the looks of it he needs to work on Extreme first. Then maybe plan on for August at Wacky Warriors ??

I am almost lost on here. Which field are we working on ??

LMK.....I am Blonde, and Old.....I have two excuse's

I made a post. All I need you to do is to answer yes or no as to if you are going to be there or not. It makes a difference. I can set us up as a group. Which means less cost out of pocket to play. I also set it up so that we can stay there saturday night and camp, bbq, party (a little or alot, doesnt matter. Noone has to drive anywhere afterward). All we have to do if we camp is to make sure we dont trash out the place while we are there. So please go to the other post and type yes or no. If you can make it on the 29th to camp would help as well. That way Chris knows how many of us will be there. I am trying to set us up as a group. That way it will be just us playing. If we want to take on open play or stay as a group we can decide that morning.

yes or no forum (http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34790)

I live in Millstadt. Extreme is like a 5 minute drive from my house. So is Wacky's east field. I drove by there tuesday night and took a look at that field out front. It isnt a bad looking field. But I used to play there when it was Behind the Lines. Probably before you even heard of paintball. 1986 if I remember right is when they leased the land and started their field. I know every inch of that place. It would just depend on how they set the field lines would be the only difference. Like I said I will be going by there saturday to try and set a Il. meet up. Maybe get some Mo people to go as well.
