I offer you my condolances on the loss of the Queen Mother.

Queen Elizabeth was loved here too,for her kindness and strength through trials unmatched in British and world history.

Magman-
www.cnn.com has full details at the top right of the page. And for Predator, I think that was uncalled for. A well known respected political figure overseas lived to the ripe age of 101, dies, and all you do is make a crack at what Army says.

My condolances are with the entire british empire.

Pardon me for my ignorance of the British chain of command, but does this make Prince Charles King then?? Or who is in charge now ....
Unfortunately I dont know too much about the royal family and who is next in line.

Elizabeth I, the Queen Mother, is the mother of Queen Elizabeth II, the actual Queen of England. QE II is very much alive and on the throne. Should SHE pass on, then Charles will be crowned as King of England.

The Royal Family has not been "in charge" for a long time. They are still Kings and Queens, but with no power to rule. Parliament/the House of Commons is the government body.

Okay duh I should have known that ... they talked about her on CNN and for some reason I was thinking that she had passed on also ...

Princess Margaret passed away a few months ago, perhaps she is whom you were thinking.

My sympathies go out to all our English friends. A grand old Dame she was. A class act from what I know.
