Tom, could you please post what you showed us about rounding off the edge of the bolt in your tech tips!!!
I did that with a foamie bolt, and now I can shoot any paint, no matter how brittle!!

How often would you break with the same paint before you rounded the tip of your bolt?

I am interested in this, what exactly do you do?

I wittnessed this phenomenon. It was amazing. Toymyster was shooting paint through his emag that our friends intimidator was chewing up. It was like 6 month old zap. I used to have chopping problems until I ground down my bolt too. Awesome mod. All you have to do is round the front edge of the venturi bolt in order to soften the hit that the ball on deck gets when the first one is fired. NOTE:DO NOT GROUND DOWN THE BOLT WHERE THE SEAR CATCHES IT.
rounding the end of the bolt will also make your gun a tad nicer on nubbins. I went through two nubbins last time I played so I ground down the bolt more.

Ok ... is it only for the foamie bolt, or also for the hardnose (but I think, it works also for the hardnose).
Can someone, who did this modification, please post a pic of his bolt ... only to see, how round the front edge is.

I must admit, i am now intrigued :)
I rarely have a chopping problem but anything to help cure the few that i do would help.

can you do it to the super bolt or only the ss ones?

As far as I know, you can do this only to SS bolts, Foamie or Foamiless!!! I have a Long Nose Foamie bolt in my E-mag, and I had zero breakage, even with as Bonx said, old, brittle Zap paint!!! The trick is you round off the sharp edge around the nose of the bolt!!! Around the nose where it hits the ball, Not around the bottom where the sear catches. What Tom mentioned was that this sharp edge nicks the ball and that causes the ball to explode when the bolt hits it!!! Before with my Foamiless I used to have about 5 to 10 breaks per 500, after with foamiless this was reduced to one to 5, now, with the Foamie, it's zero out of about 2200!!!

Wow, that's intriguing. I think I'll try that myself. Anyone have pics??

Sweet...i'm gonna have to give this a shot...what grit sandpaper do you suggest?? Thanks for the tip guys!

Yeah what grit I wouldn't want to screw my nice pretty bolt up.

Use about 500 grit sandpaper. If you have access to a lathe, you can put the bolt in an 11/16" collet and clamp the collet in the lathe chuck. This is the best way to do it, but you can also do it by hand. Just make sure to get an even round on the tip of the bolt.

Accualy, I used a grinder and a polisher!!! You need a very light touch, though!!! If you're not handy with a grinder, use a fine tooth file, or about 60grit sandpaper, then I'd go all the way up to about a 400-600grit to really smooth out that edge!!! Remember, the bolt is hardened, so it might take a while!!!! I do not have a digital camera, that's why I wanted Tom to post it as a tech tip!!!

This is a pic of a superbolt with the rounded end, done by TK himself. sorry the pics are bad but you get the idea.

Cool, maybe AGD could start making a run of "rounded nose" bolts...probably not, I think I'll get some sandpaper when I get my mag.

well the problem with that is that youre always gonna have a retarded person putting the sleeve on backwards and then complaining that his superbolt doesnt work.
