Are you sure it's a REAL hum-vee and not a kit? The real ones I've seen all have angled body work in front of the rear tires to allow for better ground clearance at the back end. The under carriage also looks a little weak for a military vehicle. I've looked a LOT into building my own hummer kit based on a pickup or suburban chassis, and some day.... The power those things have is amazing!

I live 15 minutes from tha AM General Hummer Plant in Mishawaka Indiana. They are really unbelievable. They are at all the local car and air shows with the most amazing Video. They go to florida to bog all the time with them and they go 3 ft deep in water no problem. They also can almost drive up a 3ft wall. The tire presure can be changed by a switch on the dash to get over the wall. I have riden in even the most plush model though and believe me they are not built for comfort. It is kind of cool driving with basically a carpeted table between the passengers though.

A friend of mine (who plays paintball) has a hummer.

They are very rare in the UK and very cool.

I'm working on him to let me drive it :)

That's a standard 4 seat soft top. Unless they are up-armored, they aren't all that tough. Fiberglass and aluminum is all they are.

As a former Marine Corps 1371 (Combat Engineer) .. I can tell you they are fun to drive, but even more fun to watch blow up ...

We were demonstrating the effects of AT mines on regular non-armoured vehicles, and let me tell you ... :) :) :) those things blow up good ... As for armoured, aside from the Avenger model, there really isnt any ... fiberglass body ... hell the fragmentation of the body from bullet impacts is enough to cause wounds on anyone not wearing a flak jackets ...

I never really put much faith in them ... I rather preferred the 5-ton ... at least you could blow clear or get out the back/sides should the *EDIT* No cussing. Army hit the fan ...

I'd like to see Manike try to get one of those down all those tiny little British streets. ;)
