How many do I have? I think I almost have 100 but I have stopped posting here cause it seems like we just talk about the same things everyday. It is all gravy though.

I have friends who have been members longer than I and have 1/4th the posts that I have. They just don't have the time to read and respond to threads as I do. :(

I have been a member of this board since it went up, and was member of the old AO before airguns bought it (when no one knew who "AGD" was, and why he was so good at answering tech questions); and i havn't made 200 posts in that time.

Its about quality, not quantity.

why were there counts restarted?
whats was it at?

Restola
04-12-2002, 08:24 AM
my quantity of posts has also really dropped off. no offence to anyone but most posts really do seem to be the same question posted 100 different ways. although i never used to visit the friendly forum, its where i find myself spending most of my time now. i mean how many "are emags really worth the money?" posts can you reply to?

DryIce

a lot of the people who have high post counts
post a lot of CRAP

DryIce: That's very true. Some of us also lived in the Tech forum, until we got sick of answering the same questions over and over. It's quite possible to have an entirely legitimate 1000+ count and not be a mod.

DryIce

very true
as you can see ive been here for almost a year (and was with the original boards too...)
im just saying
just because someone has a low post count
dont think they are inferior

nutz

some of the ppl with less than 100 posts are actually active tho... its impossible to really count whos active and whos not

BTAutoMag
04-12-2002, 10:27 AM
There was talk of deleating accounts after inactive after a month or so but with the grandfather rule applying (after 100 posts you are immune to your account being deleated)

FooTemps

erm... I guess I post a lot of crap but at least I enjoy posting a lot of crap... It's fun! lol

I don't like posting long posts personally, I try to keep my answers short, simple, and UN-Shartley-ish... lol:p

I think that the people that only have a few posts, join up as a member to ask a question because their mag doesn't work, and never go on AO again. Probably one of the many reasons for it...

FooTemps
04-12-2002, 02:25 PM
Another reason is that a person heard the phrase... "FREE EMAG AT WWW.AUTOMAGS.ORG" or "FREE WARP FEED AT AO" or "GIVING AWAY AN RT PRO TO THE BEST FANTASY EMAG"

BTAutoMag
04-12-2002, 04:03 PM
yup yup yup

i joined because i love my mag. and as for the long post thing. i skip over those posts 50% of the time, unless im interested about the original topic.

I read each and every post on AO besides the angel forum... I don't really have a general interest in angels yet because i'm a newbie!

My guess is that there are a lot of us who read A LOT more threads than we post replies to. Me, I tend not to post unless I have 1.) time and 2.) something I think is important to add. This post is kinda borderline in that regard

Also, a time of 1 month inactive is cutting it close; I could easily see getting very busy or being gone somewhere for a month and not posting and then coming back to AO, its happened to me elsewhere. Maybe 6 months if you want a cut-off for "dead" accounts.

BTAutoMag

it never got past talking. the mods just didnt seem to interested

Ya Go me. i have over 600...... even though most of my post are stupid and non informitive.......:D

MikeCouves

Yes! Leading this thread so far. I hope someone with more doesn't come along.

The thing is, I like to post informative posts and help people out. I just HATE when someone posts something called "My mag won't work..." and some unknown guy posts a reply and says something like "But butter on it, lol". It's so useless and just pisses the guy off that started the thread!!! Please people stop doing that.

Anyways...

Anyone else finding it hard to keep up with all the new forums? God...I find it really hard I would hate to be a mod now!
