View Full Version : CF or PF on a mag
Micromag man!

I was wondering what feed would be best on a mag, power feed right, because it reduces blowback, and the cf blow back directly into the hopper cause more chops, and i chop like crazy with my Center feed mag, what do u guys think... Power feed or Center feed for a mag?

Powerfeed all the way! Less chops and higher rof.

I got a center feed body (an E-mag body) and slapped it onto my gun replacing my hopper left (i think) powerfeed. I have had nothing but good experiances with it. About 1 case of paint though it with no breaks at all. I have a J&J 2 piece barrel and superbolt. There are some threads like this in the tech section. If you are chopping then you may be short stoking the trigger.

H/R PF (assuming your right handed). So when you get a Warp you won't need a PTP adapter. :D

Go with powerfeed. I have a Centerfeed Micromag and it chops.

I never saw any differance between c/f, p/f, or standard feed bodies. I have a p/f on my emag and a standard feed on my other mag, no problem w/ either.

I have both and I can't tell the difference between the two. I like to use the centerfeed because it is black (like my rig) and it looks good.
By the way I have never had blow back problems.

prove u dont have blowback, take a video of kleenex in yer feed, fire and does it come out?

CleenSweep just said he doesn't have blow back problems, not that he doesn't have blowback at all. I am sure that I have blowback with my CF but I haven't had any problems with it.
I've never used center feed, but if you compare the physics of the two, then it seems that the powerfeed should work better. But each individual experience is different.
I personally like my powerfeed. I've had my Minimag for 5 years, and I I've only chunked about 5 balls.
Just use what works best for you.

Just get the extended foamie bolt... It should solve any blowback problems.

Here's another vote for the center feed. My Emag with center feed is awesome, no chopping problems.
If you have center feed make suer you have the new long bolt and a good hopper.
Two things to also consider with the center feed is you don't have to worry about crappy plastic elbows ever again, and no more adjusting powerfeed plugs. I had more chops due to the powerfeed plug than anything else. Now that I've shot a center feed mag I'll never go back to powerfeed.

Paul, did you use the parabolic feed plugs?
