Ok, I know the LUXFER tanks are 5 years to hydro, the guy at the local scuba shop tells me all fiber wrapped tanks are 3 years. Since im getting mixed info here, I figure SOMEONE would know here, Ive included a pic of my tank, plus ive written out what it says, can anyone help me? this is something I should know with some certianty. I am leaning towards 5 years, because it does say LUXFER on the tank. Also if anyone knows a good place in Ontario Canada that does Hydrostatic testing on tanks, please mention them.

The tank does also say "Hydrostatic Testing Must Be Performed Every 3 Years." but I think this was also before they started doing some tanks every 5 years. :(

Tank Info:
ACI BULLDOG
68CI / 3000PSI Adjustable

TC - 3FCM 207
DOT-E 9634 - 3000
DK 2472 LUXFER 3^00

Luxfer Part Number P08F-1 Glass Fiber

Indeed, though Id still like to see if anyone knows better, since at the time, all fiber wrapped tanks were hydroed every 3 years.

That tank is every 3 years. Luxfer tanks that have DOT-E 10915 on them are the 5 year hydro tanks.

try this on...and by the way not all Luxfer tanks have the 5 year hydro. Only those that have the specific DOT number on them.

I used to perform hydro testing at the local scuba shop, I've done many tanks both fibre wrapped, steel, and aluminum. While there is a specific DOT # for the different types, you can basically go by one simple rule:

fibre wrapped like the one you have every 3yrs max life 15yrs
steel or aluminum every 5yrs no life limit(test will determine life)

Note these are just general rules and you should always use the label on the tank.

If the tank label or stamping is covered the testing facility can not legally test the tank unless the tank info is confirmed.

Hope this helped.

I think I saw a pure energy fiber wrapped that had a 5 year hydro. BTW, what's the cost of the hydro test.

I think I heard that they run about $15 U.S.
