Can they? I know they can slap an age limit on the purchase of goods, but can they legally ban a sport?

Check out the news section at Warpig.com. There should be a few articles about paintball being threaten to become outlawed in certain areas. Hope this helps.

There was an entire state (Illinois comes to mind, but I don't really remember) that banned paintball for a while. It CAN and HAS happened. Baltimore is considering it RIGHT NOW. If he does what ever he is contemplating you need to report him.

Lots of towns have banned PLAYING paintball - it pretty much falls under the same ordinances that ban the discharge of any sort of projectiles within the city limits. That's just common sense.

I know of no jurisdiction that currently bans the possession of paintball equipment, although Baltimore is trying.

Alpheretta GA passed a law rather strictly restricting the ability of minors to possess paintball markers, and New Milford CT passed a law prohibitting lpay on city land (which was the direct result of people playing there without permission and causing damage.)
